Internship Programme Delhi : www.ilo.org International Labour Organization
Internship
The Knowledge Team is looking for an intern (see the Terms of reference - (pdf 41 KB)) to assist all the main knowledge management functions, mostly extracting, analyzing and packaging knowledge, in order to make it accessible, build competencies of microinsurers and advocate for microinsurance. Deadline to apply is April 11th.
Fellowship programme
Fellowships allow young professionals to gain hands-on experience in microinsurance by working onsite in a microinsurance programme under the remote guidance of a mentor and, at the same time, to build the institutional capacity of the host organization. The assignments, based in developing countries, last from 6 to 12 months. Fellows are provided with monthly stipends that vary by host country and experience. Fellowships are learning opportunities and not offers of employment.
Please only apply to the position for which you feel most qualified. In your application correspondence, please tell us from which sources you heard about the opportunity (Newsletter, Media, blogs, Linked in, Twitter, etc.). Eventually, due to the high number of applications, we will only communicate with short listed candidates.
India Deadline Application 31 March 2011

The aim of the project is to investigate the cause for failure in gas turbine compressor rotor blades using stress analysis method. The blade, disc and spacer assembly of the compressor rotor blade is modeled using CATIA and meshed using gambit
The analysis is carried out for two cases using tecplot. For case -1 :disc sector –blade assembly and for case-2:disc sector- blade –spacer assembly. The analysis concludes that the spacer in contact with blade platform surface act as the stress raiser that initiate the crack.
Further a failure model for different crack lengths is modelled using CATIA and analysed using ANSYS.From that variation of stress intensity factor for different parameters are plotted .From that recommendation for future work is given to reduce stress.
