Objectives :
The basic objective of the summer internship is to expose the students to the corporate environment and understand the realities of the field. The students learn theories in the class; the internship is meant to teach them to relate the realities with these theories. Therefore it is essential that the internship is done either in the field of IT and/or in the fields of rural development or agriculture.
The students undertake a semester long (four months) internship in their last semester, generally referred to as the winter internship. The summer internships can also be used as the starting point for the winter internship. The student can define a specific project for the summer internship that can be carried forward in the winter intership.
It is not always expected that the student would actually build something or create some system on her own during the summer internship. It is considered more of a learning experience where she would learn to undertake different responsibilities. However, the learning process should be fruitful enough for her to create a document at the end of the internship. Her internship work will be graded based on the report submitted at the end of the internship.

Duration :
The internship would be for two months, it should be done anytime between 1st May to 31st July.

Deliverables :
The student is required to submit a report on the work done and the evaluation by the supervisors.

Assessment :
Summer internships carry pass or fail grade. The students have to pass it, to be eligible for earning the masters degree.
