Summer Internship
IIFM believes in the importance of giving its students extensive practical exposure alongside invaluable academic inputs to ensure their holistic development. This ensures a perfect mix of business acumen and academic intellect. Such exposure is provided by means of summer internship, field work, industry visits, guest lectures, and live projects. A ten week compulsory summer internship with various organizations which include financial institutions, forest based organizations, development organizations, NGOs, government departments, MNCs, etc., provides an opportunity for the students to apply academic knowledge to real time managerial problems.

The duration of summer internship is for a period of 10 weeks, April 05 June 1, 2011 which includes the presentation of work and report
submission at host organization.
1. The organizations are expected to give a brief description of the work to be done including deliverables by the student within a period of 10 weeks which facilitates the student in selecting a project.
2. Kindly note that not more than two students are generally permitted to do a single project. Also please kindly indicate the qualification and language requirements that are essential or desirable and whether the
requirements apply to one or both the students taking up the project.
3. Please do not change the projects or make substantial alteration in the scope of the submitted project proposal as project detail is one of the most important criteria for choosing a project by the student.
4. Please mention the emoluments in terms of stipend, accommodation,
traveling and other expenses to be offered during the project as per the organization norms.
5. Once with the organization, the students rely on the reporting officer (R.O.) for guidance, hence please ensure that the officer nominated as R.O. has sufficient time for guiding students.
6. On completion of the project, the students present their findings to the
organization and submit the draft report before the relieving date from the
organization i.e. June 11, 2011.
7. All summer internship reports submitted to IIFM can be publically
accessed in the institute's library.
8. Organizations are encouraged to select the students for projects based on the personal or telephonic interview or directly short listing the candidates.
9. The organization should send evaluation report of Internship Project to SI Cell, IIFM within a week after completion of Internship.
10. Kindly fill up the attached form and mail/fax/email it at the address given above.
