Example content imageThe Academy conducts 3 years Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course (AME), which is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Govt. of India. It has an annual intake of 120 students. The course is organized in six semesters and during the final semester students are sent for practical training to reputed airlines. On completion of six semesters and after clearing three DGCA examinations students are awarded the Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License (BAMEL) which qualify them for employment in Civil Airlines.
Civil Aviation Authority issues certificates of Airworthiness to private and commercial aircraft which are in fully serviceable condition at all times. To certify that maintenance is carried out on aircraft and it is fully serviceable, only qualified persons called Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, who are issued with license in a particular category by the Civil Aviation Dept, are only allowed. The academy prepare the students to appear for different categories of the DGCA examinations, in the "Mechanical" And "Avionics" stream.
Eligibility for the course
* Candidates should have an aggregate of 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics in 10+2/HSC/PUC/or equivalent. Candidates who possess a Diploma in Engineering (3 years course) with 50% marks in aggregate over the three year period are also eligible for this course.
Admission Procedure
* Admission for AME course is open from 01April onwards. Application with prospectus are available at the Academy office on payment of Rs. 250/-.Submit the application with the following
a. A registration fee of Rs 2000/- (non refundable) by demand draft in favour of Hindustan Aviation Academy, payable at Bangalore.
b. For foreign nationals, a non refundable registration fee of US$100 is applicable.
c. 3 sets of attested photocopies of certificates and original mark sheet of Qualifying Examinations passed.
d. Conduct certificates.
e. Six recent passport size colour photographs.
f. Medical certificates; physical fitness and colour vision test.
Training
* The course duration is 3 years / 6 semesters. After completion of 5 semesters at our academy, the Students are sent to Aviation organizations such as Air India, King Fisher Airlines, Air Deccan or any approved aviation organization to gain on-the job training (OJT) in the related field for a period of six months. This total period of 3 years is counted as an aviation experience by the DGCA for employment. Students can choose either "Mechanical"or "Avionics" stream as specialization from the third semester onwards.
