- Formulation and evaluation of Rabeprozole sodium buccal tablets– at postgraduate level
Abstract :
For the development of Rabeprazole sodium buccal adhesive tablets, we studied Formulation and evaluation of Rabeprazole sodium delivered by buccal adhesive tablets composed of HPMC E 50, Carbapol 934, Ethyl cellulose and Lactose. The optimized formula composed of HPMC E50, Carbapol and lactose in the ratio 50 :50:98 mg respectively. It may be attached to the human cheek without collapse for atleast 10hrs. The Rabeprazole sodium buccal adhesive tablet would be useful to deliver Rabeprazole sodium which degrades very rapidly in acidic aqueous medium and undergoes hepatic first-pass metabolism after oral administration.
