* Project Description :
The project is replacing an existing 2 lane carriageway that runs from the northern city of Jammu to Srinagar in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Construction detail includes a new alignment via a 10km road including approx 9km of major tunnel, through the lower Himalayan hills, which provides a smooth and safe alternative to the existing 41 km road. The project value is circa $550mUS.

* Job summary :
The successful candidate will report to the Project Procurement Manager and be responsible for assisting with all procurement functions including negotiating rates and prices, developing new suppliers and subcontractors, maintaining the supplier / subcontractor database, preparation of supplier and subcontractor vetting sheets, purchase order administration and developing and maintaining the supplier / subcontractor library.

* Responsibility :
Any applicant will be degree qualified and have a minimum of 3 years experience in construction procurement. An applicant must possess a high level of enthusiasm and energy and be able to demonstrate initiative, maturity and self-motivation. An applicant must have a developed knowledge of the procurement process and have strong negotiation skills. In addition to this an applicant will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as a high level of computer literacy with particular proficiency in the use of Ms Office Products and Fox pro, Dbase and Unix software programs.
