Example : The ship “Freedom of the seas” as part of 3 day cruise program starts at Miami goes to Jamaica (Caribbean) then back to Miami. Currently, all the cruise programs are round trip, and one cannot embark/board a ship from a non originating port of the ship.
From the above example, Interporting Project basically allows a passenger/guest to embark a ship from a non originating port which is not being done currently.

Extraction Process - In the extraction process, data is extracted from the source systems. This process follows certain business rules to load data required for only Non registration Subject Area.
Staging Area - Data extracted from source systems is stored in the staging area where the data is transformed before being loaded into the ODS.
Loading Process - After the transformation, data is loaded into the ODS.
ODS Area - Once the loading process from source to staging is complete, an extraction process from staging to ODS is executed.
CDW Area - Data extracted from ODS is stored in the star schema of CDW where the data is transformed before being loaded into the CDW area.
Transformation Process - This process reads the data from staging area applies multiple business and transformation rules to convert and prepares the final data sets in compliance with the star schema structure.

Description Charles Schwab has embarked upon a strategic initiative to build an enterprise wide Data Warehouse that will enable fact-based decision-making. The data warehouse being built will serve as a firm foundation for Business Intelligence and Data Analytics subsequently. The Extraction, Transformation and Loading of Data in this project were divided into two stages from source to staging and staging to Data Warehouse.
1) Moving data from source data files to Staging area :
In this development phase the data from different sources were captured in a flat file with the pipe operator used as a delimiter and the header being the record count. The data from the flat file was then moved to the staging area.
2) Moving data from staging area to the Data Warehouse
In this development phase the data from staging is subject to refinement through aggregation, summarization and reorganization to make it usable for Decision Support System analysis.
