Types of Patients
Due to experience in hospital with international standards, I’ve been managed\exposed to all kinds of medical, all kinds of burns, Inhalation injuries, cardiac, and accidents.
Job Responsibilities
- Take charge of the unit while on duty
- Maintain all the emergency equipments/medicines
- Take care of the patients who brought to emergency room with gravely injured or in collapsed state till the physician are available
- Emergency client care : assessing condition, vital signs monitoring, maintaining patient airway, and administration of oxygen.
- Assisting and performing ILS, ATLS procedures.
- IV canalization &IV fluids administration
- Cleaning &dressing of wounds, assist in suturing
- Transferring pts to hospital from clinic, site to clinic by ambulance with patient on ventilation.
- Very good exposure on pre-hospital care, (able to perform intubation, AED, start IV line and administer emergency drugs if the hospital rule permits when patient in imminent danger).
- Provides a management framework for the provision of health, safety, and environment quality services to CCIC staff.
- Manages aspects of conducting routine hygiene inspections of all staff at remote sites.
- Manages the provision of first aid care to all employees on-site
- Conducting medical examination to the employees who assign in critical area.
- Assist site management to meet production and service targets by assisting in the maintaining of a healthy workforce.

Employment Details, Types of Patients
It is a 550+ beds super specialty hospital attached to nursing school. NTU is bedded unit with 12 staff nurses, one team leader, one in charge etc. Here most of the cases are Head injury, OPCP, Snake bite, RTA, Hanging etc…many of the clients are referred cases from other hospitals.
Job responsibilities
3 shifts with duration of 6-8hours in a day and 12 hours in night.
Preparation of safe and comfortable bed for the client.
Total care of the bed ridden client like mouth care, back care, eye care, hair care, care of the urinary catheter, skin care, attending the pressure, points providing unwrinkled clean bed, frequent changing the position, adequate nutrition etc.
Maintaining patients airway-assess the airway patency, insertion of oral airway, perform nasal and oral suctioning as required, providing nebulization, steam inhalation, chest physiotherapy, and postural drainage to mobilize secretions.
Hourly maintaining of flow charts like vital signs, chest tube drainage, intake and urinary output, I V fluids, central venous pressure, diabetic chart, insulin chart, head injury chart, medication chart etc.
Emergency client care :
Assessing condition, vital signs monitoring, cardiac monitoring as possible, administering emergency, medications administration of oxygen, assisting and performing CPR, assisting and performing endotracheal intubation, administration of intracardiac injections, etc.
Assisting and performing defibrillation in emergency.
Care of the client on mechanical ventilator-
Maintaining patient airway, continuous cardiac monitoring and recording of vital signs and other ventilator parameters, setting and maintaining of ventilator according to the needs of the client.
Performing 12 leads ECG.
Meeting the nutritional and eliminational needs of the client –insertion of nasogastric tube, nasogastric tube feeding, administration of enemas, suppositories, maintaining gastric lavage, bowel wash, urinary catherization, bladder lavage, bladder training by periodic clamping and releasing etc.
Blood sample collection for various investigation and evaluating lab valves, analyzing ABG reports for pH, PO2, HCO3 oxygen saturation etc, collection urine for microscopy and culture, sputum collection for direct smear and culture and sensitivity monitoring blood glucose and urine ketones using glucometer and ketondiastix.
Maintaining records and reports.
Monitoring IV fluids and electrolyte balance.
IV preparation, IV canulization, administration of IV fluids, medications and care of IV sets etc.
Preparation of client for various procedures like CT scans Ultrasonography, PFT<, and Bronchoscopy, chest X-ray etc.
Assisting and performing dressing (eg : bedsore and surgical wounds).
Maintaining asepsis throughout all the procedures.
Specific postoperative care according to the surgery done.
Admission, discharge and transfer of the client.
Providing bedside commode and urinals
Proper bio medical management.
Proper disinfection of contaminated articles and utensils.
Maintaining good interpersonal relationship with clients, caretakers, coworkers, superiors etc.
Formal and informal health education of the client and family using various methods.
Other general duties like supervision of non-professional workers, maintaining inventory of articles, receiving required stationary items, attending rounds with doctors and superiors.
