M.SC. PROJECTS :
Purification of Recombinant Human Interferon alpha 2b from Escherichia coli.
Abstract : Interferon alpha-2b is very effective in treating many cancers (in combination with chemotherapy and radiation) and also in preventing chronic hepatitis C when given immediately following infection. The present study involves expression and purification of recombinant human interferon a-2b from Escherichia coli. The sequence coding for interferon a-2b was expressed in E.coli strain. The protein was exclusively found in inclusion bodies (IBs).The IBs containing recombinant human interferon alpha-2b were purified by different washes. The pellet was solubilised and purified by Reverse phase HPLC. The purified protein was refolded to get biologically active recombinant human interferon alpha-2b.

Production, Purification, and Characterization of Bacterial Pectinases from Bacillus pumilis.
Abstract : Pectinases is a general term for enzymes that break down pectin, a polysaccharide substrate that is found in the cell walls of plants. The present study involves Isolation, Screening and Characterization of Pectinases from Bacillus pumilis, Mango fruit waste as culture medium.Culture conditions for Bacillus pumilis were optimized. Crude enzyme was extracted and purified by Ammonium sulphate precipitation, dialysis, and column chromatography. Purified enzyme was tested for different biochemical conditions.
