Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) was established by the Government of Tami Nadu during early eighties to produce Newsprint and Printing & Writing Paper using bagasse, a sugarcane residue, as primary raw material. The Company commenced production in the year 1984 with an initial capacity of 90,000 tonnes per annum. Over the years, the production capacity has been increased to 2,45,000 tonnes per annum and the Company has emerged as the largest bagasse based Paper Mill in the world consuming about one million tones of bagasse every year

Responsibilities :-
- Monitor the plant performance on daily basis to ensure Power generation to meet the in house load and to export as per the target.
- Co-ordinate with other technical departments to resolve the arising day to day maintenance problems.
- Lead the Electrical team for operation and maintenance of Electrical systems of 60 MW thermal power plant Consisting of CFBC boilers and its auxiliaries.
- Preventive, Break down & Annual shut down maintenance of Electrical equipment pertaining to Generator, Steam Turbine, Boiler, 220KV switch yard and HT, LT Power & protective equipment & Protective Relays.
- Operation, Maintenance & trouble shooting of ABB, Siemens and Allen Bradley drives and PLC.
- Operation, Maintenance & trouble shooting of Coal handling Plant.
- Proposal and execution of Capital Expenditure schemes. Annual budget planning and inventory management.
- Implementation of systems to confirm plant operation and maintenance practices to ISO & OHSAS standards.
