Re: Dr. Reddys Laboratories : Hyderabad : Ph.D / M.Tech in Chemical Engineer
I am Dr. TV Anuradha. I have done my doctorate in Materials engineering after my Master's degree in chemistry. I am done my Ph.D from IISc, Bangalore in 2003 and I have nearly 5 years of postdoctoral research experience. I had break in my carrier many times due to my family circumstances, but my interest in the area of nanostructured materials remains the same all through these years. I am currently interested in a suitable research position at Reddy's Lab of Hyderbad. Kindly let me know if there are any research jobs that suit my background.
Thanks,
Dr.T.V. Anuradha.

KEY ACADEMIC PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN
Studies of Stability and Scale-Up of Fluidized Beds using CFD – Master’s Degree Project
(Jan 08 – Jun 09)
- The “principle of similarity” is an idea for scale-up of chemical process equipments. This principle involves developing the relationships existing between different scales of equipment. Such relationships are called Dimensionless Groups
- Wrote the equation of continuity and motion for both fluid and particle phases. Non-dimensionalizing the governing equations resulted in Dimensionless numbers
- Keeping these dimensionless numbers constant for the two fluidized beds, checked dimensionless plots for two fluidized beds. A similarity of profiles indicates similarity in hydrodynamics

ABSTRACT OF PROJECT
PARTIAL PURIFICATION OF RECOMBINANT BOVINE SERUM ALBUMIN FROM Pichia pastoris FERMENTED BROATH.
Bovine serum albumin (BSA) is used as a diluent or a blocking agent in numerous applications including ELISAs (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), blots and immune histochemistry. Additionally, native BSA is routinely used to enhance the stability of proteins during or after their purification, or in biological assays and to prevent adhesion of the enzyme to reaction tubes and other vessels.
In recent years, there has been a mounting concern over the use of animal products in many pharmaceutical and biotech industry applications because of the threat of animal viruses and transmissible sponge-form ensephelopathies (TSEs; the causative agent of mad cow disease) that may be present in bovine-derived BSA. Current methods of preparation of BSA involve purification of the protein from bovine plasma and testing for the presence of these contaminating agents.. Therefore, there is currently no alternative large-scale supply of BSA that is assured to be free of all animal-derived infectious agents. So we want to optimize a method for BSA purification in small scale which is scalable. The source of the protein is from recombinant production.
Purification of recombinant BSA produced from fermentation involves extraction, primary, secondary purification. Different techniques applied in purification based on their molecular properties like isoelectric point, surface charge, molecular weight, hydrophobicity, affinity, sedimentation coefficient etc. optimization involves centrifugation, microfiltration, precipitation techniques, different chromatography, Tangential flow filtration techniques, and desalting methods . The pure form of BSA obtained after purification should be sterile and free of impurities when compared with known standard.
