Optimization of Operating Parameters in W-EDM of Carbon Fabric Reinforced
Epoxy Composites.
Purpose of the project : To find the optimized machining parameters of Wire electric discharge
machining of C-epoxy composite materials using two different types
types of EDM wires.
EDM Wires : Hard Brass and Zinc coated EDM wires were chosen for machining.
Experimentation : Experiment was carried on Electronica Ultracut S2 series automated
CNC Wire EDM machine & de-lamination was analyzed using SEM.
Optimization : Optimization of multiple quality characteristics of WEDM such
as MRR & WWR was analyzed by combined Fuzzy-Logic & Taguchi technique. Fuzzy-Logic optimization was done using MATLAB.
Analysis : SEM analysis of machined surface was done to analyze the de-
lamination of composite materials which compares the two types of
EDM wires.
Project (B.E.)
Optimization of Riser Design for Aluminum Alloy Casting Using ANSYS.
Softwares used : PRO-E, ANSYS.
Description
- Purpose of the project : Reduce riser size, increase efficiency, reduce manufacturing time
- Modeled the component using PRO-E and analyzed using ANSYS
- Analyzed the various parameters of the manufactured component using normal method, using insulating sleeves and using insulating sleeves and chills.
- Found that using insulating materials and chills the efficiency is increased and the manufacturing time and cost are reduced
- Insulating materials used : plaster of paris, cerafiber and metal ceramic composite
- Chills used : copper and cast iron
- Did a comparative study of various materials and found the best one

- Here we use an authorization engine to identify the user from the database. database has the list of users and their corresponding roles assigned to them,
- The users are restricted depending on their roles i.e. only some functions will be available for users.
- Each and every user has a unique password which is given by admin and the user can change it according to their wish once he enters the software.
- Prevents unauthorized users and Privacy is given for each and every user.
- It is an MDI application, used disconnected database and admin, power users can take the printout according to the functions assigned to them.
