Job Description
ROLES & RESPOSIBILITIES :

*Execute the work in compliance with the project requirements & the Companyâs quality System.
*Review the project execution schedule and develop detailed schedules for Civil and Structural design activities.
*Must work on Software STAAD PRO, MATHCAD & MS office.
*Must show interest in adopting other software like TEKLA, ETABS, SAFE, etc.
*Production and checking of documents including, but not limited to studies, calculations, reports, specifications and scope of work.
*To produce drawings and liaise with Civil and Structural designers and review civil and structural drawings.
*Perform technical bid evaluations and review of vendor drawings.
*Prepare man-hour estimations for tenders.
*Site visits for inspections & trouble shooting.
*Assistance with tender packages including B.O.Q., tender documents, scope of work etc.
*Assist the Head of Department in assessing the requirement of Staff training and the technical performance of staff.
*Assist the Head of Department in the management of the department work load.
*Participate in the Companyâs mentoring program to assist and mentor younger, less experience engineers.
*Review drawings and documents submitted by EPC Contractors as per project specification within the review period.
*Review Civil Materials including Architectural materials as per project specifications.
*Review EPC Contractorâs alternative design proposals submitted to curtail time and cost savings ensuring compliance to project specifications.
*Day to day co-ordination with Resident Engineer & Planning Engineer for Site progress monitoring.
*Attending weekly site progress meetings.
Desired Candidate Profile
*Must have minimum 10 yearsâ hard core design experience in Power & Transmission Industry
*Preferably consultancy background but EPC background would be added advantage.
*Must possess strong technical background in design of Power plants & Substations.
*Strong technical background in structural analysis and design of RC and Steel structures, including power stations & infrastructure projects involving heavy rotating / static equipment, foundations, facilities, buildings, electrical indoor & outdoor substations, storage tanks, support structures using tools such as STAAD, ETABS or equivalent.
*Strong technical background in civil design of Power plants and Substations including preparation of civil general arrangements, earthworks, drainage design, road works etc.
*Should have reviewed in the past documents & drawings of EPC Contactor.
*Must have experience in preparation of scope of works, civil design basis, civil specifications, architectural plans, sections, elevations and drawings.
*Must be able to generate detailed calculations and drawings for all civil and RC / Steel structures.
*Ability to review vendor documents, civil specifications, geotechnical and topographical reports.
*Familiarity with international codes, standards and engineering practices such as BS, ACI, AISC etc.
*Must have experience of working within an ISO 9001 QA environment.
*Must have good knowledge of Civil / Architectural materials used.
*Must possess report writing skills.
*Must possess strong interpersonal skills to co-ordinate in a multi disciplinary environment.
*Be able to motivate and provide guidance to a team of Engineers.
*Ability to communicate with senior management and clients.
