QC Inspector Welding :
During the stages inspection involves the following duties :
- Performing Welder Qualification Test as per the Approved Welding Procedure Specification.
- To carry out incoming raw material inspection, in case of rejection reporting to the manager.
- Checking of dimensions, tolerances, preparations, fit-ups & alignments are in accordance with code.
- Carry out integrity inspection and testing activities as per QCP’s
- Reviewing as built, spool fabrication drawings
- Witnessing and evaluating of Mechanical test and NDT results.
- Preparation of reports.
- Preparing and clearing Daily Welding Reports
- Inspecting welder qualifications tests\
- Co-ordination with TPI’s.
- Visual Inspection of pipes for external deterioration, dimensional.
- Measurement, thickness as per the approved isometric drawings before fabrication process.
- Inspection of fabricated components in accordance with the approved Isometric drawings.
- Visual inspection of pipes during root passes for proper penetration.
- Job responsibility includes Fit-up Check, Visual Inspection of Welds and Witness hydro test.
- Monitoring all welding activities during fabrication as per the WPS’s that are in complete compliance with company standard and procedures.
- Offering joint for NDT by welder coverage and line class coverage..
- Initiating NCR’s in case of any non conformity or if deviation arises from codes\standards.
- Inspecting welder qualifications, procedure qualifications.
- Attending weekly safety meetings and educating the welders about safety
- Performing inspection of equipment and ovens related to welding before the operation.
- Maintenance of the entire QC related documents.
- Monitoring all welding activities during fabrication as per the WPS’s.
- Maintaining welder performance record in order to reduce the repair percentage.
NDT INSPECTOR :
- To study and understand the client NDT procedures
- Interpretation & Evaluation of test results
- Preparing reports after completion of tests
- Allocating the employs for site works
- Handling the site NDT activities as a team leader and submitting the site
reports to the client / manager.
- Co-ordination with clients like LLOYDS, BHEL.
- Offering joints for NDT as per the requirement, and witnessing NDT tests such as UT, MT and PT.
- Performing UT, MT and PT including critical jobs like welds, white metal bearings, pressure vessels etc, and evaluating the results in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
