    1. Manpower utilization in St.John’s hospital Bangalore :
    Summary :
    A research work had been conducted on the manpower utilization in St. John’s Hospital, where the work load of grade B and C category Staffs were assessed. The study was conducted review the performance of the staff of various department such as the housekeeping, maintenance, laundry, ward aides and CSSD technicians. The study was done to evaluate the performance of the contractual staff so that the hospital can regularize them. As per the study, based on the performance of the staff, they were regularized from contractual to permanent.
    2. Developing Standard operating procedures for Outpatient department and Intensive care unit of Suguna Hospital, Bangalore.
    Summary :
    A Standard Operating Procedure [SOP] is a set of instructions or steps someone follows to complete a job safely, with no adverse impact on the environment (and which meets regulatory compliance standards), and in a way that maximizes operational and production requirements. SOPs can be written for any processes an individual or group performs : unloading raw materials, shutting down an operation, repairing a faulty electrical circuit, caring for hospital patients, and thousands of other workplace activities.

    A research work was conducted in Suguna hospital, to identify the activities taking place in the Front office and ICU. The activities were standardized according to NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals) and JCI (joint commissions International) standards. The job profiles of all the functionaries were standardized. Quality Indicators were developed to assess the performance of the department.
    3. System analysis of emergency department of Suguna hospital, Bangalore
    The following research work has been conducted to study the emergency department of Suguna hospital with the objective to compare the present system with the NABH (National accreditation board for hospitals) standards, to identify the gaps and suggest remedial measures to fill the gaps. The research work was conducted to assess the quality of service rendered in the casualty department. The study was conducted in a qualitative manner where the three parameters input, process and output to measure the quality of a department where analyzed. The data was obtained by direct observation; review of records and by interview with concerned personnel. As per the study the compliance of Accident and Emergency department of Suguna hospital with NABH (National accreditation board for hospitals) standards is 53 %. 25 standards were taken as per the NABH out of which 13 gaps were detected. Recommendations have been given to fill these gaps. The staff satisfaction level is 95%.
