Someone who knows TEMS products (previously this business unit was under Ericsson), those from Operators and Network Service Providers may know our products.

This role description is meant to form a base for the work that the regional sales offices should make to support their business within the TEMS Business Unit.
In this document the following abbreviations mean:
Market Region (MR) = Direct Sales channels in India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan and Nepal
Market Unit (MU) = All Ericsson KAM organizations in India & Sri Lanka
1. GENERAL
The sales manager’s main task is to sell the TEMS portfolio of products. This can be direct sales to customers in MR or to MU. The sales manager described herein is located at the TEMS regional office in Bangalore.
2. RESPONSIBILITY
The sales manager is responsible for the sales of TEMS product portfolio; he/she is responsible for a particular customer segment or territory.
Meet sales target/budget per country/customer for product segment set by Account Director.
Securing that all actual business within his/her area of MUs is correctly fire-coded
Keep MU informed about TEMS portfolio and TEMS activities in the country
Selling TEMS portfolio to new and existing direct customers, i.e. preparation of offers and tenders, contract negotiation and product marketing.
Supporting MU in their sales activities.
Securing that MR/MU use TEMS products to improve their business.
Creating and maintaining good relation with customers in MR/MU
Following up on MU market activities; tenders, demonstrations, market communication material, seminars, trade shows etc.
Introducing new products and services to the MR.
Keeping him-/herself updated on competitors and competitor solutions and report back to Account Director.
Giving market feedback to Account Director.
Keeping him-/herself updated with Product portfolio news.
3. ACTIVITIES
The sales manager should perform the following activities:
Write/send Quotations for assigned products
Office sales & Field sales
Product value propositions/presentations
Building Relations with customers
Build network within MR
Participate at trade shows/exhibitions as stand staff
Track customer history ($, products, contacts, buying pattern)
Create and maintain sales prospect list, forecast etc.
Solves product/delivery problems, interfacing with TEMS supply office Prospecting
Assist Account Director in reporting (Monthly report, prospect list, and resource allocation)
Contribute to regional sales meetings
Write event report for publishing in TEMS News / intranet
Set up quarterly sales activity plan for the area, together with the Account Director.
Proactive marketing to the MR/MU; launching of solutions, seminars, and participate in exhibitions.
Arrange customer visits.
Support MU in sales process

5. SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
Professional Competence
Knowledge in telecommunication and mobile telephone systems.
Engineering graduate in Telecommunication or IT environment.
Business management qualification is an added advantage but not mandatory.
Good understanding of standard IT environments and computer proficiency.
Human Competence
Excellent Communication skills are essential. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate the business value of TEMS products to customers in an efficient and professional way.
Must have good listening skills
Excellent inter-personal and social skills. Must be able to work as a team.
Strong analytical abilities.
Self motivated, flexible and able to work independently.
Business Competence
Customer oriented mindset
Basic understanding of customer needs and what defines customer satisfaction
Willing to travel extensively
Excellent spoken & written skills (English). Ability in Hindi is an added asset.
Very good Telecom Industry knowledge
Knowledge about sales strategies
Ability to handle all customers’ situations with confidence and professionalism
The sales manager is expected to exhibit traits of a businessman and understand the principles for value-based selling in combination with the ability to analyse the customer’s needs.
Knowledge about business economy, the telecom market trends and the ability to do life cycle analysis for suggested solutions is an added advantage.
