selection :
The selection will consist of Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Those found fit in the PET will have to appear in a WRITTEN EXAMINATION.

Pay scale : Rs 5,200-20,200 having Grade Pay of Rs.1, 800

Application fees : The examination fee for Unreserved and OBC candidates is Rs.40/- (Rupees Forty Only). Candidates belonging to SC/ST, Women, Minority community candidates and Economical weaker sections are fully exempted from payment of examination fees

South Western Railway was created by amalgamating the reorganized Hubli division from South Central Railway with Bangalore & Mysore divisions of Southern Railway. This railway has become operational from 1st of April, 2003 with its head quarter at Hubli in the state of Karnataka.
The zone encompasses railway routes passing through Karnataka and parts of Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Goa & Maharashtra.

Project Title : SPEECH ENCHANCEMENT TECHNIQUES

Description: Base on the properties of voiced and unvoiced speech we have implemented the speech enhancement techniques. The silence part of the speech signal has been removed by using the voice activation Detection technique, so that the signal contains only voiced parts. As results the signal occupies lesser band width when transmitted through a channel. A preprocessing noise suppression algorithm using magnitude spectral subtraction has been implemented. Spectral estimates for the background noise were from the input signal non-speech activity. The noise estimates were subtracted from the signal and the resulted residual noise and musical are also suppressed. Its performance was quantitatively tested for improvements in intelligibility. The power spectral subtraction method is implement to remove the acoustic noise and to minimize the residual noise and to minimize the residual noise musical noise by subtracting an overestimate of the noise spectrum and prevent the resultant spectral noise subtraction method affords a great reduction in the background noise with very little effect on the intelligible of the speech.
