Instantly an sms will be sent to someone handy to help the victim and simultaneously the indicator will be turned on and the car will be moved to left with an alarm.

    PhD Topic : Transmission network expansion planning (TNEP).
    Developed Mathematical Models :
    - Heuristic Method for TNEP with security constraints.
    A new efficient heuristic method based on compensation approach for TNEP with security constraints is developed. The system security is ensured with N-1 contingency analysis. Comparison of results is carried out with those reported in literature and basic binary GA. The proposed heuristic method is very simple and computationally very efficient.
    System studied : 46 bus south Brazilian system, 93 bus Colombian system, IEEE 24 bus system, Garver 6 bus system.

    - TNEP with security constraints and uncertainty in load specifications.
    The load forecast uncertainties are handled using boundary value approach. The system security is assessed with single line outage contingency. The problem is solved with 1) Newly developed heuristic method.

    System studied : 46 bus south Brazilian system, 93 bus Colombian system, IEEE 24 bus system, Garver 6 bus system.

    - Bacteria Foraging- Differential evaluation (BF-DEA) algorithm for TNEP with security constraints.
    A new metaheuristic method BF-DEA is applied for TNEP with security constraints. The results are compared with those reported in literature and basic binary GA.
    System studied : 46 bus south Brazilian system, IEEE 24 bus system, Garver 6 bus system.
    - Harmony Search (HS) algorithm for TNEP with security constraints.
    HS algorithm is used for TNEP with security constraints. The results are compared with the ones obtained with BF-DEA, basic binary GA, and reported in literature. HS algorithm was found to be most robust and provided best expansion plan among all three.
    System studied: 46 bus south Brazilian system, 93 bus Colombian system, IEEE 24 bus system, Garver 6 bus system.
    - Hybrid Approach using heuristic method and meta heuristic method for TNEP under certain and uncertain environment.
    A hybrid method having combination of heuristic method (proposed 1st point) and HS is used for TNEP with security constraints. This further improves the convergence characteristics of HS.
    System studied: 46 bus south Brazilian system, 93 bus Colombian system, IEEE 24 bus system, Garver 6 bus system.
    - Dynamic TNEP using HS technique under certain environment.
    TNEP is done in a dynamic fashion for three /five year planning horizon which requires stage wise addition of transmission line for varying stage wise loads, such that total cost of expansion plan is minimum and no operational constraints are violated with varying stage wise loads. N-1 contingency analysis is performed for security analysis. Comparison of results is made with the ones obtained with static TNEP for each year in an incremental fashion.
    System studied: 93 bus Colombian system, Garver 6 bus system.
    - Rolling window based concept for dynamic TNEP.
    A new rolling window bases concept for DTNEP is proposed, where the plans for each year a reviewed before implementing with planning dynamically for next three years. Comparison of results is made with the ones obtained with static TNEP for each year in an incremental fashion and the traditional DTNEP.
    System studied: 93 bus Colombian system, Garver 6 bus system.
    M.Tech Project: Voltage security analysis and enhancement.
    1. Developed a program for voltage security analysis and enhancement and assessment in C language. A performance index is used to assess the voltage security and then optimal power flow is used to enhance the voltage stability margins.
    System studied: IEEE 14 bus system, IEEE 30 bus system.
    2. Developed a program for voltage security assessment after a single line outage.
