EMPLOYMENT NOTICE FOR FILLING UP OF EX-SERVICEMEN QUOTA
Closing date : 27.12.2010 at 18.00 hrs.
Applications are invited from Indian National Ex-Servicemen who fulfill the eligibility criteria
mentioned below for filling up the following posts in Pay Band-1 of Rs. 5200-20200/- with Grade Pay of Rs.
1800/- ( erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts ) in Western Railway.
1. Trackman / Gangman Engineering 631
2. Helper - II / Khalasi Engineering, Stores , Mechanical, Electrical, Signal & Telecom

3. Platform Porter Traffic 65
Total 962 posts

The last date of receipt of applications is up to 18.00 hrs of 27/12/2010.
1.0 Eligibility Criteria:-
Ex-Servicemen who have retired after putting in 15 years of service and have passed Army Class-I
certificate or equivalent are eligible to apply.
2.0 Age Limit (As on 01-01-2011)
UR : 18 to 33 years, OBC :18 to 36 years, SC/ST :18 to 38 years
3.0 Exam Fee:- There is no examination fee.
4.0 Mode of selection:-
4.1 The recruitment shall be on the basis of scrutiny of application and the ex- serviceman should be
medically fit for the job being considered for.
4.2 There will be no written examination/interview or Physical Efficiency Test.
4.3. The panel will be formed on the basis of their length of military service.
5.0 Medical Examination:-
The candidates who are empanelled, will be subject to Medical Fitness Examination and as per
medical classification they will be further considered for appointment based on vacancies available
for that medical category.

7. 0 Whom to apply:-
7.1 The filled-in applications along with the required documents should be addressed to: “Assistant
Personnel Officer (Recruitment), Railway Recruitment Cell, Western Railway, HQ Office,
Churchgate, Mumbai-400 020”. The application should be sent by post so as to reach this office
before the closing date and time mentioned above or should be dropped in the box provided at the
Railway Recruitment Cell, 2nd Floor, GLO Building, HQ Office, Churchgate, Mumbai before closing
date (Up to 18.00 hrs of 27.12.2010).
7.3 The envelope containing the application should be super-scribed on top –“Employment Notice No.
01/2010(WR/ESM), Recruitment against Ex-Servicemen Quota”.
