Job Description
Work activities
- Discussing the sound needs of the production with the Game Producer and Game Designer.
- making sure the sound stays within safe hearing limits
- creating the sound effects to be used - either creating them from scratch, or sourcing and modifying them from existing libraries.
- working with colleagues to create a 'sound plot', setting out exactly how sound is to be used and adjusted at each point of the script
- monitoring audio signals to detect quality deviations or malfunctions
- using sound equipment to produce any sounds that are part of the special effects for a performance

- thorough technical knowledge, including the performance levels of sound equipment
- an understanding of fast-changing technologies
- solid understating of audio codecs and knowing how and where to use them.
