Position : Chief Geologist

Location : Mumbai

The incumbent will be responsible for geo-physical evaluation of identified base metal
mines.

His key area of responsibilities will be :
o Plan and carryout detailed geo-physical evaluation, interpretation, mapping, cross
section and seismic attribute analysis. Plan and execute exploration i.e. drilling
activity.
o Ensure correct sampling of drilling cores.
o Sample preparation for chemical minable analysis and physical testing
o Interpretation of GPS, Satellite Images.
o Assess and identify grade of minerals based on chemical analysis report.
o Eliminate minable ore base of exploration data and interpretation.
o Preparation of geological report based on available data.
o To support plan detailed mineral activity and recovery of minerals or ores.

Desired Candidate Profile :
o The candidate must be M.Tech./PhD in Geology/Applied Geology with15 -20
years of relevant experience.
o Hands on experience of planning geological exploration for identifying the core
of mineral as well as minable minerals.
o He should be able to support detailed mining plans, collection of drilled cores and
sample preparation.
o He should have sufficient experience in forecasting base on mineral analysis
report or surface sample.
o Should be familiar with modern exploration technology.

1) South West Mining Ltd, Bellary.
It is sister concern of JSW Steel Ltd. At present company is carrying out exploration for Iron ore and BHQ in Sandur, and Davangere di. Karnataka. I am with this Project since from August 2010.
My Duties :
- Carrying out Field work as a part of Fact Mapping & Detailed Geological Mapping under exploration.
- Inspection of Topo survey work & verification of the plan in the field jointly with survey contractor.
- Planning, Organizing & Execution of Survey.
- Identification of proposed drilling point in the field & give bearing & Azimuth to drilling machine.
- Attending drill site for logging & Preparation of daily, weekly reports.
- Sampling of for the Assay, Metallurgical Testwork, Density & Mineralogical Test.
- Co-ordination with Laboratory & different agencies.
- Preparation of Geological Cross Sections/Longitudinal Sections.
- Estimation of Resources.
- Quality of reserve/resources based on Assay
- GPS survey of land to be purchased.
- Part of Team which prepared Forest Diversion Proposal.
2) Global mining and environment services, Hospet.

It is a mining consultancy providing all technical service to the clients.
My Role :
- Preparation of lease applications (for iron & manganese ore).
- Updating of Geology, Geological Cross Sections, And Longitudinal Sections.
- Carrying exploration with DTH drilling and logging.
