1. Title : “Performance characteristics of single cylinder DI diesel engine using diesel &
Vegetable oil blends (jatropha & pongamia pinnata oils).”

Description :
Experimental investigations are carried out on single cylinder DI diesel engine to examine the suitability of jatropha & pongamia pinnata oil as an alternative fuels. The performance and emission characteristics of diesel blends with different proportions of vegetable oils such as 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by volume are evaluated and compared with diesel. From the above investigations the following conclusions are drawn.
The brake thermal efficiency is higher than that of diesel. Hence it is concluded that use of 15% jatropha blend & 15% karanja blend is best suitable to use as engine oil without any engine modification. Hence from the results it is concluded that JT 15 is best suitable as engine fuel compared to P15.
