L&T Build India Scholarship Programme at IITs :

Each year 40 fresh engineering graduates in the Civil, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines are sponsored by ECC to the M.Tech (Construction Technology & Management) Course at IIT-Madras and IIT-Delhi. The Course is designed by the IIT's in consultation with ECC.

Ads are placed in all major Indian newspapers inviting applications from fresh engineers specialising in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering disciplines. We also write to about 100 engineering colleges seeking applications of engineering students for the above.

The selection is done jointly by IITs & L&T. The selection process includes a grinding series of Written tests, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

On successful completion of the M.Tech. course, the selected candidates are absorbed in regular employment in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Scheme.

Post Graduate Engineer Trainees :

Applications are invited from Post Graduate Engineers of reputed engineering colleges by writing to the colleges. Successful candidates are inducted into our Engineering Research Designs & Consultancy Division.

Graduate Engineer Trainees & Diploma Engineer Trainees :

Every year ECC recruitment teams visit reputed engineering colleges and polytechnic institutions to induct fresh graduate engineers and diploma engineers into the company under Campus Recruitment Scheme. Graduate Engineers are given extensive on-the-job training of 12 months to equip them for higher responsibilities in the organisation. Training period for diploma engineers is 24 months.

Graduate Trainees :

we also recruit Science / Arts / Business Administration Graduates every year. They are designated as Graduate Trainees. Applications are called for through advertisements in leading newspapers. Selected GTs are given comprehensive training for two years. During their training period they are exposed to various functions like stores, time office, accounts, and personnel.

DESCRIPTION:
The Water Aided Combustion Engine mainly involves two areas viz... Efficiency and Control on Exhaust gasses. The main areas covered in this report are electrolysis process, combustion process, weight reduction techniques and design of engine to suit the temperature variations.

ACADAMIC PROJECT:
Project Title: Design and Fabrication of Landing Gear Mechanism
Location: KLECET, Belgaum Semester: 8th SEM
Duration: Feb 2010 to June 2010 Team Size: 4

DESCRIPTION:
This project is designed and fabricated for the emergency landing of plane when the Hydraulic System which is connected to the landing gear is failed. The project was mainly divided in to four stages
1.The system is designed based on theoretical formulae with proper safety factor for the transmission system, lead screw, nut and frame of the system.
2.The fabrication mainly involves machining the lead screw and nut, cutting and welding the channel to the designed dimension and balancing the frame for uniform load distribution.
3.The testing of the sliding system is done and taking the vibration and impact load into consideration conclusion is made.
4.Maintenance of the system is easy as there is no leakage of hydraulic oil as in case of hydraulic system.
I have done the design of transmission system, lead screw, nut and positions of limit switches, also part of fabrication and testing.

- Design of Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) reactor.
UASB reactor uses an anaerobic process while forming a blanket of granular sludge which suspends in the tank. Wastewater flows upwards through the blanket and is degraded by the anaerobic micro-organisms. The upward flow combined with the settling action of gravity suspends the blanket with the aid of flocculants and the final result being the pure water and biogas usually methane.
Main project
- Widening of two lane road to four lane road and strengthening of flexible pavement.
In this project an attempt has been made to widen two lane in to four lane road. Our project area is Medavakkam to Velachery. The widening of road also includes strengthening of pavement. A traffic survey was conducted in this project. Based on the number of vehicles, soil test was conducted as recommended by the state highway department. Thus road can be widened by giving a capping layer which is used to strengthen the sub-grade.
