Matric / SSLC plus National Trade Certificate plus National Apprenticeship Certificate in the trades of Electronic Mechanic / Electrician / Fitter Draughtsman (Mechanical) with not less than 60% marks in both NTC and NAC for General and OBC candidates and 55% for SC / ST candidates
Desirable : Working knowledge of Kannada

The Upper age limit is 27 years as on 01/11/2010, i.e. candidates should be born on or after 01/11/1983 and before 01/11/1992

Project Description : The project presents a new drive for single-phase induction motors.This drive employs a dc chopper circuit with a diode bridge full wave rectifier connected with the stator in a non-conventional fashion. The speed of the single-phase induction motor is controlled by controlling the chopping frequency of the chopper switch. The attractive feature of this drive is that it affects both frequency and phase-angle control simultaneously. The drive performance has received both theoretical and experimental investigation.
