Job Description
-In depth knowledge of Designing and implementing the assay related to microarray/DNA Chip, Real Time PCR, PCR, TR-PCR, ARMS PCR, Nested PCR, Long Template PCR.
-DNA Sequencing for identification of vaccine/drug targets.
-RNA extraction and electrophoresis, northern blotting, primer extension, -S1 nuclease assay, RNAse protection, RNA splicing experiments, in vitro and in vivo ribozyme cleavage experiments.
-Well acquainted with the basic and advanced molecular biology techniques including, DNA extraction, Agarose gel electrophoresis, molecular cloning, Southern blotting, cDNA and genomic library construction and screening, random prime labeling, nick translation and end labeling.
-Preparation of competent cells, bacterial transformations, vector construction and cloning,
-Restriction analysis of clones and mapping, DNA sequencing.
-Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, western blotting, immunoprecipitation.
-Working experience of gene cloning, expression and protein purification.
Pathogen handling on Biosafety Level II & III for culture and drug susceptibility testing (in-vivo and in-vitro)
-Molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases.
-Designing and development of DNA Fingerprinting assays for epidemiological studies of infectious diseases.
-Control, Management & Improvement of Q.A /Q.C. Molecular Biology and Microbiology laboratories.
-Extensive experience in cell culture
Desired Candidate Profile
* Advanced degree in Biology (Such as Ph.D., M.Sc.) is required.
* The candidate should have a minimum of 12 (preferably more), years of experience in Molecular biology,cell biology specifically in the areas of in vitro biology and in vivo.
* A minimum of 6-8 years experience in a management position in a pharmaceutical research & development set up.
* Creative individual, with hands-on experience in the design and execution of animal studies.
* Should be able to demonstrate proven leadership capabilities. Should possess very strong communication skills, both verbal as well as written.
* Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, allocating personnel, and resources among many competing priorities to meet visible deadlines.
* Candidates must have a sense of urgency and desire to get things done effectively and efficiently.
