Application Fee
Candidates are required to arrange for a crossed
Demand Draft for Rs.100/ drawn on any nationalized bank and valid for at least 06 months in favour of "Director, National Physical Laboratory" payable at New Delhi. The last date for submitting online application and making of Demand Draft is 13/12/2010. This date will be the same for the candidates belonging to far-flung areas. The following details must be filled up on back side of Demand Draft (i) Candidate's Name, (ii) Candidate's Category, (iii) Post Code Applied For. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category, physically handicapped, regular employees of CSIR, women and those staying/applying from outside India are exempted from payment of fee. The demand draft details are to be filled by the candidates at the appropriate place in the on-line application form while submitting the same.

How to fill up online Application Form
Click on the Online Application Form link to get the Application Form on your screen. Type in the information asked for in the Application Form. When done, click on Submit Application. Fields marked * are mandatory. After submission, a printable version of the filled application will be displayed on screen showing your unique application number. Note down this Application number. This can be used for obtaining additional print outs of your application form and also as a reference number in all future queries/communication.

Steps after submitting online application form
Press CTRL+P to get a print out of your submitted application form.
Keep a copy of the application print out and Demand Draft for your record.
Printout facility will not be available after 20/12/2010.
Successful online submission of the application is indicated by the generation of a unique APPLICATION NUMBER displayed on your screen.
After submission candidates should take a printout of the computer generated filled application form. Sign each page of the form and paste a recent passport size photograph in the space provided. Also sign in full across the photograph.
Candidate need not attach any reprint of publications, testimonial, experience certificates, caste certificate or original marksheets / certificates etc. along with his/her printed application form. The candidate, however, must produce his/her original degree/diploma, mark sheets, age, experience certificates, caste certificates etc. at the time of interview. Thus candidates are requested to ensure while filling up the application form that any discrepancy found between the information given in application and as evident in original documents will make the candidate ineligible for appearing in interview/appointment.
The signed printout of computer generated application form with photograph should be sent in an envelope superscribed APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ____________ (Post Code: ____) by post to the The Controller of Administration, National Physical Laboratory, Dr. K.S. Krishnan Marg, New Delhi-110012.
The Computer generated printout of the Online Application Form should reach the above address by 20th December, 2010 (including far flung areas).
Separate applications along with appropriate fees are to be made for different posts if a candidate is desirous of applying for more than one post.
Applications from employees of Government Departments will be considered only if forwarded through proper channel, certified by the employer that the applicant will be relieved within one month of the receipt of the appointment orders, if selected. Vigilance clearance should also be recorded. However, an advance copy of the application may be submitted before the closing date. Applications routed through proper channel should reach NPL at the earliest.
Candidates should specifically note that the applications received after the closing date for any reason whatsoever (such as envelopes wrongly addressed, delivered elsewhere, postal delay etc.) will not be entertained by NPL.

Incomplete application (i.e. without photograph, unsigned and application fee, if applicable etc.) will not be entertained and will be summarily rejected.
