Eligibility :
* M.Tech. or Ph.D. in Engineering, with a focus on heat transfer, radiation in particular
* Knowledge of solving the Radiative Transfer Equation (RTE) using Discrete Ordinates (DO) or Monte Carlo (MC) is a plus
* Over 5 years experience in programming with MATLAB, C, C**, Fortran 77 or equivalents
* Willingness to work both individually and as part of a team, and to learn new concepts and ideas, including the application of classroom knowledge to the real world

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to :
* The candidate will be responsible for analysis of radiation heat transfer from the source (sun) to the collectors (heliostat field) and onto the receiver
* Estimation of instantaneous, daily, and yearly collector and receiver efficiencies using view factors and optical properties such as reflectivity, absorptivity, emissivity, and transmissivity
* Optimization of the solar field configuration using various commercial and proprietary computer codes
* Experimental testing of solar field concentration using a prototype solar field and receiver
* Scaling up from prototype to actual solar field and receiver using a combination of experimental data and computer models
