SOFTWARE PROJECTS & RESEARCH WORK :
JANUARY 2008 – OCTOBER 2008 M.Phil Research Work, Bharathiar Unoversity, Coimbatore
Title of the Thesis : Maintaining Efficient & Reliable Session Control Systems using Selection of Most Available Server Policy
Gist of the Thesis :
- Session control systems have ample implementation in real life; existing system can have high service dependability if redundancy is introduced either through clustering or RSerPool, i.e, implementing the replicated session control server concept.
- These replicated session control servers are quantified by Transaction Control Time, thus reducing transaction control time enhances the performance of the session control servers.
- Appropriate server selection policy plays a vital role in reducing transaction control time
- This research work aims at achieving the above goal, that is, the objective of the work is to reduce the transaction control time by choosing a proper server and to maximize the probability of successful nth transaction, under the condition that n-1 attempts are not successful.
- The objective is accomplished by integrating Most Available Server Policy into RSerPool fault-tolerant architecture with simple extension. This new algorithm is referred as “Most Available Server Selection Policy – MASSP”
- The MASSP algorithm also has better session control performance during Server and communication failures.
This thesis work is done with self-interest in N /w application and submitted as part of my M.Phil
Curriculum.
