Job Description :
1) To create & establish export market for Unitex rubber thread in target countries as per approved business plans.
2) To undertake export business development by introducing new customers / new countries for exports.
3) To prepare and implement export strategies for achieving export targets.
4) Responsable for import & export documentation.
5) Obtain all necessary advance licenses and subsidies / incentives.
6) To undertake import of natural rubber / compounded rubber / high value chemicals.
7) Responsible for compliance of all Statutory & Regulatory requirements (laws) applicable to exports and imports and coordinate with all concerned within group (Legal Dept. / Compliance Officers) on need basis.
8) Responsible for custom clearance of all export & import goods including appointment of CHA.
9) Responsible for developing sources of natural rubber / compounded rubber abroad.
10) To track market intelligence relating to exports and imports.
11) To guide and control subordinate in aspects relating to export & import.
12) Generation of MIS.
Experience :
8-12 years of experience in handling export / import of rubber thread / natural rubber / chemicals or any other related textile products like yarn etc. Exposure to computers particularly MS Office essential.
Education :
Graduate in Science or preferably in Textile Technology / Engineering PG: Diploma in Foreign Trade / MBA preferred

- Responsible for all activities involved in contract administration used to procurement of non ferrous metal from overseas including high seas buying as well as domestic.
- Generosity and strengthening the relationship with suppliers for the smooth hassle free operation
- Quest new sourcing networks for procurement of non ferrous metal and vendor development meeting on cost / quality/ quantity objectives.
- Trading to meet the requirement of the plant if necessary in absence of Associate directors.
- Vendor Development : Being gifted with some special communication skills, my organization entrusted me with the responsibility of vendor development. Heading a team of four people fully committed to vendor development, who send frequent RFQ’s, company catalogues etc to suppliers across the world. “Treat vendors as friends” helped me a lot in attaining my above goals.
- Vendor Retention : Responsible for vendor retention. Frequently visiting the suppliers to maintain business relationship. Maintaing touch with them to avoid any sort of loss in contact. Handling their grievances. Informing them of the latest updates in our organization
- Raw Material Planning : In order to ensure that the production is never held up because of any short/delayed supply of raw material, I maintain a raw material availability data with full details of weekly requirement and weekly supply. This allows me to meet the production requirement timely. I have been 85% successful in this and have a target of achieving 95% with the help of other departments by the end of next month.
- Logistics : Leading a team of two people involved in arranging customs clearance and logistics for all imports shipments. We together have to ensure that all our cargo is shipped timely and all the required documents for the shipment are arranged for timely clearance and delivery of raw material. I introduced the concept of “ZERO DETENTION/ZERO DEMMURAGE” concept in my organization and have been 50% successful in this. Have a target of taking it to 70% within next three months.
- Claims : Has been successful in recovering Detention and ground rent from various shipping lines and CONCOR.
Studying, analyzing the data of imports and prepare the consolidated MIS accordingly.
- Metal Booking Statement.
- LME Vs Scrap Price.
- Claims statement.
- Actual costing of container for each shipment.
- Quality Assurance & Cost Control : Once the containers receipt at works, evaluating performance & monitor quality of the material purchased, identifying gaps and taking corrective action in terms of claim to recover the losses in product quality of corresponding shipment as per below appended set of procedure.
- Regular inspection of raw material at works.
- Separate the claim issues and analyze the same that how to recover the losses.
- To place the instructions for testing of doubtful material at works through spectra test or visual basis.
- Once receipt the unfavored report of testing then annunciate the suppliers.
- Emphasize and negotiating with suppliers to be compensated the losses of material.
- Assisting associate directors in procurement of Non ferrous scrap, negotiating prices with the suppliers.
FUTURE STRATEGY :
Would like to widen the work area to include more types of raw material apart from, which I am presently handling. I would also like to foray into ferrous scrap to hone my skills and widen my knowledge. If given an opportunity would certainly like to handle trading of material. Apart from this I am also interested in getting deep into treasury and risk management and to learn how to handle and avoid risk involved due to high price fluctuations and Exchange rate fluctuations
