Summary of Training :
Jindal Steel and Power Limited is equipped with plate mill that produces plates and coils of 3.5 and 3 metres width ,respectively, for the first time in the private sector. JSPL produces plates ranging from 7-120 mm in thickness and widths of 1500-3500 mm and coils varying in thickness of 7-25 mm and widths of 1500-2500 mm. The total production capacity of the plant is 1 MTPA.
The slabs are re-heated at a very high temperature of 1,250 degrees celsius and then rolled in a 2- hi reversing type roughing mill and a 4-hi-reversing type finishing mill. To ensure excellent surface quality, high pressure de-scalers are provided at the entry and exit points. An auto-level 2 width and thickness controlling system coupled with heavy leveller close dimensional tolerances and flatness controlling system is also equipped. Starting with slab charging and plate production, inspectio facilities are also equipped.

- Noting down plates and coils producion on daily basis.
- Providing suggestions for solving issues, as enquired by the guide.
- Directly interating with the executives while they are performing..
- Reporting the executives about the thickness of the finished plates and coils and jotting down the variations.

- Fatigue Testing Mahines may be classified from different view-points such as : purpose of the test, types of stressing, means of producing the load, operation characteristics, types of load, etc.
- My project’s aim is to analyse types of stressing, operation characteristics and types of loads.
- Analysis was done on the designing software named Unigraphics(UGS) NX 5.0, whare I have to draw the various parts of the Fatigue Testing Machine and analyse thereafter.
- I have accomplished successful analysis under the guidance of my project manager.
- During the analysis of the machine in Unigraphics NX 5.0, i was taught to analyse the mechanism of machine in another popular designing software named CATIA(Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application)
