BE PROJECT :
Removal of Heavy Metal from industrial wastewater By Ground Nut Hulls
Purpose : The increasing demand for more effective remedial technologies results in a huge window of opportunity for biosorption whose competitive advantage warrants its future success.
Approach : BiosorbentGround nut hull was selected for this study due to its originality, availability as well as to access its ability to be utilized as low cost biosorbent & lab scale experimentation was performed.
Result : Obtained result showed that biosorbent was able to remove copper from its solution and the sorption capacity was strongly dependent on initial concentration, pH, and dose for batch study and initial concentration, pH, and flow rate for continuous study. Thus biosorbents can easily be applied as a cheap adsorbent for heavy metal removal such as copper.
M.Tech PROJECT :
“Modelling of biogas production in an Upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor (UASB) reactor for kitchen waste”
Purpose : To develop a suitable model for prediction of biogas production in an Upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor (UASB) reactor for kitchen waste.
Approach : The existing 360 m3 UASB reactor based biogas plant at Tata motors Pune, by Mailhem Engineers Pvt.Ltd. Pune was selected as a case study. The multivariate linear regression (MLR) and multivariate nonlinear regression (MNR) was conducted to correlate different parameters. Three models were developed using multivariate regression analysis.
Result : The comparison of three models was conducted based on prediction of biogas production rate and statistical results. All the three modelling approaches were in good agreement with their measured values of biogas production rate, the MVR model 1 performed relatively better than other ones. The developed models can gainfully employed for prediction of biogas production in UASB reactor for kitchen waste.
