QEI has immediate need for experienced Piping Designers for its Indian operation in Salt Lake, Calcutta. The candidate should have exposure in Design Engineering Organization preferably engaged in oil & gas industry and should have hands on experience in piping modeling and detailing.

Responsibilities :
Candidate should posses an above average academic record, a diversified knowledge of drafting principles and practices in the design of projects of various scales and magnitudes. He will be engaged in various sections of piping modeling, drafting and material take-offs.

Qualifications :
** Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
** Sound technical background and ability to effectively work in a multi-discipline environment.
** Hands on experience in Plant modeling in general and piping and equipment layout and modeling in general.
** Conversant with PFDs, P&IDs, piping isometric and material take-off.
** Proficiency in operating AutoCAD and / or Microstation.
** 3-D plant modeling experience using PDS/ PDMS/ Auto PLANT/ SmartPlant will be considered as added qualification.
** Ability to work in a team with all levels of people, both internal and external to the organization.
** Good computer skills.
** Good oral and written communication skills.

Work functions may include the following :
** Development of plot plans.
** Development of piping G.A. and Equipment Layout drawings.
** Development of pipe support detail drawings.
** Preparation of piping isometrics and MTO.
** Inter-discipline coordination to facilitate smooth flow of design information.

He will be engaged in various sections of piping engineering viz. design, analysis and material selection/control, on the assigned projects.

Qualifications :
o Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field with a minimum 3 years of industry experience.
o Strong technical background and ability to effectively work in a multi-discipline environment.
o Hands on experience in Piping engineering in general and layout and/or analysis and/or piping material in particular.
o Conversant with PFDs, P&IDs, piping isometric and material take-off etc.
o Hands on experience in stress analysis packages like CAESAR II or equivalent is preferred.
o 3-D plant modeling experience using PDS/ PDMS/ Auto PLANT/ Smart Plant will be considered as added advantage.
o Excellent analytical and computer skills.
o Strong oral and written communication skills.

Work functions may include the following :
o Conceptual design / feasibility studies as part of Front End engineering.
o Development of plot plans.
o Development of piping G.A. and equipment layout drawings.
o Development/Review of isometrics.
