Job Description :

To provide engineering domain expertise in a GIS / IT organisation to the software designers and IT Project personnel, covering basic engineering concepts, inputs in developing data models and software tools, QA / QC of CAD / other data enabling the organisation to execute utility / engineering jobs in GIS and software field.

2 to 5 years / Up to 2 years in design organisation of utility / EPC / consultancy companies.

Nature of past experience : The candidates should have following knowledge base:

1. Basic understanding of electrical engineering

2. Electrical apparatus in power distribution & their technical parameters

3. MV & LV Power distribution / utilisation design, SLDs, protection, metering and control

4. Power systems analysis (LF / SC) concepts

Nature of past experience : The candidates should have performed one or more of the following activities:

1. SLDs preparation and checking

2. Design & development of O/H and U/G network

3. Transformer / Fuse / Cable / line sizing

4. Earthing, Lightning protection and Lighting layouts

5. Estimation of electrical bulk material.

6. Engineering QC

Desired Candidate Profile :

Experience (years) : 2 to 5 years / Up to 2 years in design organisation of utility / EPC / consultancy companies.

Qualification : Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering

The project involves GIS conversion of Outside Plant Facilities from drawing to OSP-FM software based on VISION. The process involves printing of Scanned Images and then converting the textual and graphical data to GIS data.

2. Internet Mapping
This project involved conversion of raster images into vector data, attachment
of attribute data. Finally, the database is to imported into GIS
Domain using MapInfo software at 1 :1000 scales. Some major thematic layers
viz., road and other transportation network, location of settlement and a
historical feature etc is created for use in worldwide web.
Responsibilities : Quality Assurance of Data Conversion.
3. Land information system (France)
This project involved conversion of raster to vector. Digitization of parcels from the source record, attachment of attribute information for each parcels Moisacing of maps and finally deliver the data in dwg. And mif. Format.

emergency response purposes. Creation of such a huge database is one of its
kinds in the IT-world.The whole process involves Geo-referencing of image,
digitization, attribution addition and field validation to make GIS DATABASE.
