Description : REQUIRED FOR NDDS (Novel Drug Delivery system )

PROFILE :
To develop various Novel Drug Delivery system i.e MUPS(multiple unit particles), Liposomes, Nasal Spray, Respiratory drug system for generic molecules or discovery molecules
To nebulise the solutions / Dry powder inhalors
To conduct complete product characterization and stabilty stuides
To develop formulation for preclinical and clinical trials.
To Prepare the documents of all the discovery activities.

REQUIRED FOR SOLID REGULATED GENERIC MARKET (USA/EU/CANADA) PROLIFE

Conducting literature search and preparation of the literature review presentation
Participating in the patent evaluation and making non-infringing formulation report and get it clear from IPR & RA depts. with GL’s & RL’s.
Conducting the preformulation study for the product development.
Preparing protype formulations based on the preformulation study.
Conducting the API characterization, compatibility study and recording the same in the lab book.
Procuring the raw materials for experiments viz. Excipients, API’s and setting up the equipments in the lab
Conducting development trails, achieving desired dissolution profiling and manufacturing the stability batches & bio equivalent batches.
Evaluating the trails, bio-equivalence, and stability data scientifically & planning experiments.
Making the product review presentation of the formulation development.
Coordinating in conducting the TT demo batches with FTT dept
Addressing the quires of the FDA/ Customers related to formulations.
Planning for the exhibit batches and preparing PDR, Lot 1 & 2.
Participating in the Exhibit batches with TT at plant
Providing technical support in the Commercial batches as an when required.

Topic : Molecular characterization of a gene of White Spot Syndrome Virus
Institute : Central Institute of Brackish water Aquaculture.
Duration : 60 days.
Synopsis
Tissues from a shrimp infected by the White Spot Syndrome virus was taken
and the genomic matter was eluted.
The desired gene from the virus was amplified using PCR, then after restriction was cloned into BL-21 and DH5 a cells for producing multiple copies. The expressed envelope protein was also used for further molecular studies.

Topic : Toxicological studies of Nanoparticles.

Synopsis
In vivo and In vitro toxicological studies of chemically synthesized (TiO2-Nano and bulk, ZnO, NiFe2O4, CuFe2O4) and characterized nanoparticles were tested on different kinds of cells such as lymphocytes, chick embryos and micro-organisms. In vitro cytotoxic studies were done by treating mice lymphocytes with the nanoparticles and their cell viability was found to decrease gradually with the increase in concentrations of the Nanoparticles. Cytotoxic effects of Nanoparticles were also checked on cultured micro-organisms such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas. The In vivo cytotoxic study was done on chick embryos and the toxicity of the nanoparticles were observed very clearly due to the death of the embryo and also biochemical assays for antioxidants were done to understand the effect of the nanoparticles in the embryonic fibroblast cells and liver tissue. It was interesting to note that the size of the Nanoparticles play a major role in the cytotoxicity and the death rate of the embryonic cells were found to be high when injected with Nano-titania whereas the death rate was low in Titania (Bulk). These specific Metal oxide Nanoparticles were selected to study because a) TiO2-commercial in food, cosmetics, crayon, sunscreens, Paints, UV Protections b)ZnO- commercial in Zinc soap, ointment, dental inlays, food powders and cosmetics C) Ni Fe2 O4 - cellular label, gene delivery and biomedical, D) CuFe2O4- Biomedical applications.
