Project1 : cycling type Mixer Grinder

DESCRIPTION :
In this project (cycling type mixer grinder) we (group members) try to introduce a special type of mixer grinder that works only on mechanical energy and not using any electrical energy .we introduce this concept by considering the fast urban life, where the people especially women doesn’t find time for daily exercise and also by considering the rural areas of India where poor people lives without electricity. Here in this project we just do a simple application of “design of transmission system” here we use chain sprocket mechanism and gear mechanism to transmit power. while pedaling the cycle the power from the person get transmitted from large sprocket to the smaller one , one end of the smaller sprocket is connected to one bevel gear this gear is in turn meshed with another bevel gear ,as bevel gear is used to produce 90 degree of motion. At the end of second bevel gear is connected to a mixer grinder jar , thus by this mechanism an out put speed 2000rpm will be obtained at jar end and this speed is enough to do normal house hold works
Project2 : Study of Braking System in Coaches.

Place : Southern Railway Trivandrum
DESCRIPTION :
The objective of this project is to make a study about the Braking System in Coaches. The project was done in Southern Railway Trivandrum. In Air Brake system compressed air is used for operating the brake system. The locomotive compressor charges the feed pipe and the brake pipes throughout the length of the train. The feed pipe is connected to the auxiliary reservoir and the brake pipe is connected to the brake cylinder through the distributor valve. Brake application takes place by dropping the pressure in the brake pipe .The project was very useful to know more about braking system used in coaches.
