Job Description
•We are looking for a Java Developer to be a member of the IMPACT Team. You will be part of a highly motivated and passionate team creating a state-of-the-art Marketing system. This exciting new system employs leading-edge techniques and technologies to allow users to manage promotional pricing and marketing production across multiple formats in a large retail organization.
•As a Java Developer, you will be designing, coding, testing and implementing new features and applications within the Marketing suite of applications. You will focus on creating industrial-grade, high quality and high performance systems employing creativity, ingenuity and technical expertise to get the job done.
•The ideal candidate should have a positive can-do attitude with a relentless drive and ability to take themselves to increasing levels of effectiveness and success. This individual must be team-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile development environment with aggressive deadlines.
•This position requires strong technical skills. You will be expected to be able to handle development of moderately complex designs. Ongoing application support of existing applications will be required.
Responsibilities
•Collaborate with onsite and offshore team members, and management.
•Create moderately complex systems using appropriate system development tools and processes.
•Design, code and test the application, producing robust, flexible and defect-free designs.
•Participate in code walkthroughs, produce design and unit test plan documentation that meets good practice design, coding and testing standards.
•Create and execute system integration test plans to ensure results are consistent with business requirements.
•This role will provide technical on-call production support of existing production systems for defect resolution and to ensure application availability. Provide on-going production operation support for monitoring running of automated processes.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
•Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
•Successful prior experience as a Java Developer is required.
•Minimum of 3 years experience in application development.
•Strong oral and written English language communication skills.

•3 years of experience writing relational database SQL queries.
•Experience with the following database platforms: DB2, MySQL, Teradata.
•Strong proficiency in all of the following: Unix/Linux, Eclipse, RAD and Clearcase.
•Experience with Websphere, JBOSS.
•Experience with Agile development environments and iterative development.

This project has been initiated to improve the accuracy of forecasting using Fine lines. To do so, changes to corporate systems and EQUITY will be made and which will affect the transmission of 52 weeks of national sales by Fineline from corporate systems to EQUITY. Thus allowing, within EQUITY, store forecasts by Fineline be calculated using the national sales against store sales for each Fineline.
