RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning test cycles of complex projects
- Efficiently distribute test resources to ensure QA test teams are sufficiently and competently staffed.
- Assess and re-allocate available resources as necessary to meet priority project needs.
- Create, implement, and update QA test procedure documentation.
- Review and update QA test procedures when necessary.
- Create, implement, and update effective testing training programs for QA personnel.
- Regularly meet with QA lead/team to review projects, priority, status and that resources are efficiently utilized.
- Oversee all assigned QA projects progression and assist in assigning the most appropriate personnel (skill-wise) for each project.
- Mentor QA leads and testers as needed to facilitate their growth within the dept and company infrastructure.
- Track and evaluate the progress of each tester, and coach, counsel, recognize, reward, and discipline as necessary to assist each employee with reaching his/her full potential.
- When disciplinary action is warranted, fully document the proceedings, and work to ensure fair and reasonable treatment across the peer groups.
- Plan, implement and manage the recruitment of permanent and temporary testing personnel.
- Coordinate with HR to ensure hiring and termination practices are supportive of department needs and consistent with company guidelines.
- Generate and implement new or improved procedures for more effective and efficient testing of company products.
- Create and deliver timely, clearly written, accurate project test reports as requested by the Manager of Quality Assurance and Program Managers.
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the QA dept in accordance w/policies and procedures set forth by the QA Manager, department, or company policies.
- Assist with the long term planning and growth of the departments personnel, tools, and processes to consistently and efficiently test and release products with known quality, on time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 6-8 years of total experience in Software testing
- 2+ years of experience as a supervisor
- Should have managed at least 2 projects for entire testing life cycle
- Through knowledge of all aspects of software testing
- Thorough understanding of STLC & SDLC, QA best practices, and processes.
- Experience with developing, compiling, tracking and taking corrective actions based on comprehensive QA productivity and performance metrics
- Excellent people management skills
- Should have knowledge of driver testing, graphics and multimedia
- Good understanding of WinXP and later operating systems
- Experience in compatibility/Benchmark testing will be an advantage
- Experience on NVIDIA products will an advantage
- Experience in Video/Multimedia testing will be an advantage
- Experience in hardware domain will be added advantage
