    Job Description

    1) Experience related to automotive body panels in plastics and sheet metal as well as preparation of detailed drawings for such panels, weldments
    2) At least 4000 hours of hands on experience in CATIA V5 – more than half of which is in surfacing modules of CATIA V5 with model and drawings sign-off responsibility of at least 12 months.
    3) At least 2000 hours of hands on experience in either in CATIA V5 or some other CAD tool AND in solid modeling and creating new design concepts for plastic injection molded, blow molded components or in creating pressure die cast or sand castings.
    4) Knowledge and hands on experience in GD&T, DFMEA, raw material selection, processing cost estimation for components worked on.
    5) Drawing preparation, checking for release, idea of vehicle packaging, available standards and methods – gauging, best practices for generation of A-side and B-side geometry in a surface modeling tool, handling large assemblies; and preferably some awareness of part racking, tool accessibility – body side, underbody and other zones, control plans, checking fixtures and panel checkers.
    6) At least basic application of the principals of ‘strength of materials’
    7) At least some basic idea of sheet metal draw tools, plastic molds design and manufacturing.
    8) At least some ability to interpret analysis results of the said parts; and decide next steps & prepare engineering specifications to be ready for use in ‘prototype’–ability commensurate with total years of experience.
    9) Some knowledge and exposure to a machine shop, press shop, mold shop, paint shop and trim lines - assembly at a OEM
    10) At least some experience in working with studio design teams, manufacturing engineering teams, engine/power train groups, other teams to resolve integration issues.

    Studied the existing brake for the manufacturing feasibility in India. Made the concept proposal for the development of Brake. Part of the project was to complete parametric modeling and detailing with GD&T of Castings and machining of brake to suit global design.
    Delta Motor (spool)
    Scope of the project was to new product Development of Delta Motor.
    Studied existing motor of Eaton and compotator. As this motor is combination of spool and disk motor. Then made concept proposal for the development of Delta motor. Part of the project was to complete parametric modeling and detailing with GD&T of Castings and machining
    Hp 30 Bearing Pack
    Scope of the project was Product Development of HP 30 Bearing pack with minimum castings and machining parts.
    Conducted a benchmarking study for all existing bearing pack for mounting flange, shafts, bearings, etc. to create common tooling and reduce inventory. Bearing pack of VIS 30, 40, 45 single and 2 speeds studied for the same. Part of the project was to complete parametric modeling and detailing with GD&T of Castings and machining
    Cameleon (product compurgator)
    Scope of the project was to develop a new web based compurgator “Cameleon” and replace existing DOS based compurgator products to web based compurgator (PARADOX to Cameleon). Confugared all existing and new product to Cameleon. Following product range was added to Cameleon - Spool Motor, Disk Motor, VIS Motor.

    Scope of the project was Reverse engineer the supplied mechanical components; create the models, assemblies & manufacturing drawings. Was Group leader (team size 15). Study the assemblies, dismantle and categorize the components as per sub-assemblies. Project allocation & co-ordination. Formalize of Quality standards and work methods.
    Modeling of large Air Handling Units. Customer – York International, USA
    Scope of the project was to model six main assemblies of evaporator and blowers including the cabling and piping of the units. A single unit consists of more than 300 components. Pro/Sheetmetal, Pro/Cabling & Pro/Harness module were used to model the components. Pro/Intralink - 3.2 was used for file management during assembling of the components.
    Modeling, Assembly and drawing generation of components for Automation and control systems. Customer – Rockwell, USA
    Scope of the project was to modeling of Parts and sub-assemblies and drawings (no of parts and drawings 10, no of assemblies and drawings 5). Carried out Interference checks for final assembly and found and corrected the problems in the components.
    Modeling of Farm equipments in Solid Works. Customer – Freeman, USA
    Scope of the project was to modeling and assembly of components in SOLID WORKS 2003 (no of parts and drawings 50, no of assemblies and drawings 10). Completed final assembly consisting of 300 parts with all details, Carried out Quality check for Models and assembly.
    Customization Project using Pro/Toolkit & Top down approach. Customer – BHEL India
    Scope of the project was customization of Pro/Engineer for automated generation of manufacturing drawings for about 14 types of ducts. Also total duct assembly drawing was to be completed with in minutes with Bill of Material.
    Modeling of wheel rim components. Customer – VITO – Germany
    Scope of the project was modeling of Part and generating drawing. Inspected parametric and non parametric models in line with customer’s requirements in CATIA V5 R8.
    Conceptual designing of draw hook, Customer- Indian Railways.
    Scope of the project was modeling of draw hook in Pro/E 2001 using Customer supplied hand sketch drawings considering the aesthetics and process design.
    Modeling of Medical system equipments. Customer – PHILIPS Medicl systems, Holland
    Led the team for 6 Projects. Activities included estimation, allocation, supervision, Quality control and scheduling of the group activities following high quality requirements of Philips.
    Carried out modeling of complex parts with approximately 800 to 1200 features for 3 Projects. Worked as modeler for total of 12 projects and QC for 7 projects. Drawings were generated from the 3D models considering GD&T and manufacturing processes.

    Scope of the project was Solid Modeling, assembly and detailing of chassis and transmission components for 3060, 4050, 4800 wheel base of trucks. Drawings were generated from this model considering critical manufacturing process and tolerances.
    Modeling of components for special purpose machine. Customer – SGCC France.
    Solid modeiling, assembly and detailing of various components for special purpose machine. Interferance checks done for assemblies.
    Other Achievements - Design and execution work of stall at auto expo. 2000., Photorendering work for Triveni Engg. Ltd. Banglore and Corporate training for Eicher Motors Ltd. Pithampur.
