Position - Environmental, Safety and Health Coordinator

Description :
This position coordinates environmental, safety, and health (ESH) affairs for the Lake Charles facility.
This position reports to the Corporate ESH Manager. This position interfaces with senior managers, plant managers, corporate staff, field personnel, vendors, safety and environmental consultants, and contract engineering and construction firms. The position has no direct reports. Safety - OSHA reportable injuries and illnesses
Environmental control – Compliance with environmental permits

Qualifications :
This position requires a minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in a similar leadership role in an industrial setting. A Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent) is required in lieu of experience. This position requires the ability to understand ESH regulations and to develop and manage site-specific policies and procedures to ensure governmental compliance and best practices. Responsible for coordinating site safety training and personnel development in the area of ESH. Must be able to sustain existing safety and environmental processes and programs over time with enthusiasm and energy. This position is a staff position and does not have line authority, and so must be able to use influence within the line organization to successfully perform many required duties.

Rain CII's roots are in the aluminum industry, dating back to 1959, when CII Carbon, LLC began as the Carbon Division of Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation. In 1998, Rain CII Carbon (India) Limited constructed Asia’s largest petroleum coke calcining facility in the port city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh state. Rain CII produces three primary products: calcined delayed sponge coke used primarily by aluminum producers for anode manufacture; calcined delayed coke for titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigment manufacture, and calcined fluid coke used as a packing material in anode baking furnaces. Other specialty calcined coke products are also made by special arrangement.
