    PROJECT:
    MULTI-SEGMENT FUZZY IMPLEMENTATION OF
    HIGH TEMPERATURE FURNACE CONTROL

    ABSTRACT:
    The aim of our project work is to maintain temperature of a furnace constant at a particular set value. The current temperature of the furnace is measured using temperature sensor which converts the furnace temperature in to analog voltage equivalent. This is converted to digital signal using A/D converter to make communication with the microcontroller. In the microcontroller Fuzzy Logic is implemented to get better performance. The microcontroller generates PWM signal for required temperature control that switches the TRIAC so that AC power is supplied to the electric heater. If the furnace temperature exceeds the reference temperature set then the TRIAC will be switched off. Thus the temperature of furnace is maintained by applying required pwm frequency at entailed temperature. Opto-coupler is used for isolating AC and DC circuits thus providing safety. Implementation of Multi-segment control in this project has improved its flexibility.
