Project title : FINGER PRINT IMAGE DENOISING BY WAVEATOMS

Project description :
The objective of this project is to eliminate the noise present in the fingerprint
Images by using wave atoms. Wave atom is applied to noisy fingerprint images and selected a percentage of the largest coefficients (in modulus), and set the others to zero.
Applications and Advantages :
The wave atom transform was developed for providing efficient representations of smooth objects. Wave atoms are a powerful statistical tool, which can be used for a wide range of applications, namely
- Data compression, Image fusion, Image restoration & De noising noisy data
- High compression ratio and High directional selectivity
- Using wave atom transform it is computationally very fast.
