Job Description:
Vessel & Yard
Ensure the all operations at the yard, gate or vessel are executed in accordance to priorities set by the Manager and as per Standard Operating Procedures(SOP), report any problem areas of operations and implement the agreed changes to resolve the problems.Ensure the optimum utilisation of all equipment employed during the designated shift period by monitoring equipment work queues and allocating equipment and personnel where required to achieve maximum productivity.Supervise the Supervisor & indirectly the gangs and ensures that each gang is organized, that each person knows what to do and when to do it for the vessel discharge and load operations according to plan in order to achieve the highest possible crane productivity.Instructs subordinates in safe working practices and maintains a watch over terminal area for unsafe working practices.Identifies and solves problems and issues within his competence on a daily basis that may arise with an assigned vessel to improve an untroubled operation.Coordinate with surveyors on various operational issues. Advise the Surveyors on deployment of manpower, reporting etc.

Gate
Supervises and controls all gate activities and administration ensuring accurate invoicing( and accountable of bulk cargo and containers)Ensures that Import/Export containers are received at the gate, and services performed include weighing the container, inspection of the container for damage, cleanliness, etc.Provides appropriate equipment to offload container and records charge for this service.Ensures administrative activities, such as pre-billing advices, documents, gate passes and so forth are processed timely and correctly, and forwarded to Finance or other appropriate department.The key impact of these incumbents will be the maintenance of operational efficiencies in the terminal. Responsibility for the execution of day to day operational activities.
