Thirumagal Engineering works focuses on fabrication of hydro power plant turbine. Turbine parts are brought from LITOSTROJ AND KONCAR Industries and assembled in power plant located at vendipalayam, erode. BE PROJECT :
TITLE : Investigations on Effect of Materials and Cross Sectional Area of a Raw Mill Duct.
Description : A raw mill duct is an indispensable part in a Sankar cement factory; from company requirements have to be met before a raw mill duct cross sectional size increases and present material using in company. A raw mill duct designs can be modeled virtually various scenarios using FEA, thus facilitating the development cycle. The objective of this project is to give an overview of the modeling and challenges faced in the increase cross sectional area and analysis of duct.
In the present thesis 3D modeling analysis of a raw mill duct has been done. Pro/E, Ansys is used to design the component and applying various cross sections and various materials in cost vice and plant requirement. The stresses and total deformation of the raw mill duct under three different type of material were studied and hence safety factor for safe design was decided.

2. Have gone through in-plant training on Thermal Power Station at Mettur Thermal Power Plant, Mettur.
3. Have gone through summer training and done company project on “Sankar Cement Factory (P) LMT, Sankari.
