Project 1: MANUFACTURING OF PROTHETIC LEG
DESCRIPTION:
Prosthetic legs are crucial in allowing disabled patients to assimilate back into the society. Without a proper prosthetic, normal life is almost impossible. The purpose of the project discusses the intricate workings of a prosthetic leg, and to explain their ability to improve a patient’s standard of living by Designing and Manufacturing the prosthetic leg using simple mechanical parts.


Project 2: EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL STUDIES ON HEAT TRANSFER FOR PIN FINS USING DIFFERENT CROSS-SECTIONS
DESCRIPTION:
A fin is a surface that extends from an object to increase the rate of heat transfer to or from the environment by increasing convection. The study deals with three different fin geometries. Experimental investigation was conducted on a pin fin having circular cross-section at three Reynolds numbers i.e. 73.74, 58.14, 44.79. The same flow conditions are simulated using ANSYS CFD FLOTRAN code and their results were compared with experimental results. A good agreement between the two results was observed. The same flow conditions were applied to square and elliptical cross sections. The major finding in the study was that square fins produce significantly higher heat transfer than circular or elliptical cross-sections.
