Major Role:
• Materials Management: Streamline materials handling procedures and monitoring inventory levels to ensure constant availability of the material for production. Work on Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Procurement planning.
• Purchase/ Contracting/ Sub-contracting: Coordination with the Stores for monitoring inventories of raw materials, raising indents and generation of purchase orders for the various materials required for production. Finalizing and executing purchase orders (local and imports), rate contracts in co-ordination with the quality & finance department. The monitoring of supplier performance, vendor rating, ensures settlement of creditors’ accounts & cost reduction in direct & indirect materials.
• Sourcing (Vendor Development): Identifying and selecting new suppliers/ contractors on the basis of quality, price, delivery, services being offered at reasonable rates. Development of new Vendors for the purpose of cost reduction, reliable quality product development, and indigenization. Vendor evaluation based on their technical, potential skills & sound financial stability, and their customers. Vendor assessment by conducting periodic vendor quality audits for renewing/awarding purchase/service contracts. Organizing and participating in regular supplier meet to apprise and upgrade us of new technologies, processes being used for product development.
