B.E. PROJECT WORK :
Topological Optimization of Two Stroke Engine Head Fins
- Two stroke compressor engine head was modeled in pro-e wildfire - II software by using reverse engineering method, then imported into the ANSYS workbench software as iges format and analyzed in different optimized shape, and the optimized model is concluded after doing ten different case studies.
WORK EXPERIENCE : 3 Years
Worked as Design Engineer in a Multi National Company, DOOSAN POWER SYSTEMS INDIA PVT LTD, situated in Chennai.
- Joined as Graduate Engineer Trainee on 4th august 2008.
- Have completed 1year training and presently working as ENGINEER-1 (designation)
TECHNICAL EXPOSURE :
o Have completed 6 months training in the departments of thermal, pressure parts, structural, piping, projects and got exposure towards the functions of each dept. and got training in each one of them.
o Then undergone 6 months training in departments of Pressure parts and Cold & hot structure. Got real time project experience in both the departments by assisting the Senior Engineers.
o Learned arrangements and functions about flues and ducts, pipings, steel structures, buck stays, pressure parts equipments like coils, headers, furnaces, piping’s etc.,
o Involved in the project work for EDP- Brazil in assisting the Lead engineer in design of flues and ducts using STAAD PRO Software.
o Power Boiler pressure parts calculation such as Steam drum, Headers, piping calculations, piping details, supports etc., done to meet the requirement of Power boiler code ASME Sec I.
o Checking of piping layout and detail drawings with respect to the P&ID. I have practiced Piping Stress analysis using CAESAR-II software.
o PRESSURE PARTS-Involved in the project works for MARAFIQ-STG, AIN SOKHNA (660 MW x 2 units) as assisting the Lead engineer in fabrication detailing works for headers, coils and piping in engineering department., like preparing PR-BOM, checking the drawings and giving comments for correction / modification, preparing supply list and cutting plans for plate, pipe, tube. Hands on experience in header thickness calculations according to ASME sec-1 code.

- Preparation of GA drawings and isometrics based on P&ID and plant layout
- Zero/intermediate/bulk level MTO
- Preparing materials RFQ and monitoring the status.
- Proficient in applications of Project related documents (PFD, P&ID, and MDS), valve data sheet, instruments & fittings and supports details.
- Proficient in development & basics of plot plan, equipment layout, piping layout, nozzle orientation, pipeline & equipment list preparations..
- Proficient in calculating pressure drop in pipes, pipe size calculations, pressure head loss for fittings, thickness calculations as per ASME B31.3.
- PDMS – equipment modeling, piping modeling, draft & Iso draft.
- CAESAR II – Stress concepts & analysis, error checking’s, loads, displacement & nozzle load extractions, hands on practice in static analysis for pipes with knowledge in building various load cases (self weight & pressure, temperature & wind, Seismic). I have knowledge in Buried pipe concept, vessel nozzle analysis using WRC 107/297, Pump nozzle analysis using API 610, Tank nozzle analysis using API650, PSV analysis using API RP 520, steam turbine nozzle analysis using NEMA SM23. Proficient in piping concepts, modeling, analysis & report generation.
