PRACTICAL EXPERINCE
Managing inpatients and outpatients
I am well equipped in dealing with common dermatological condition presenting to clinics and have received very positive feedback from my consultants regarding my clinical competencies. My present post as a clinical fellow at Kings college hospital ,London is a very good opportunity to develop skills and knowledge as I was doing regular outpatient clinics involving general clinics, two week wait clinics for suspected skin cancer patients, monitoring clinics for patients with various systemic medications including biologicals, combined skin lymphoma clinics with oncologists, emergency clinics under direct supervision. I have also attended special clinics e.g. patch test clinic, allergy clinic, phototherapy clinics, roaccutane clinic, transplant clinic etc.
I have done regular on call, attending ward rounds and able to manage inpatients with acute conditions.
Moreover, I am very enthusiastic to develop myself further as an aesthetician in near future .I have done various aesthetic courses from prestigious Harley group . I have also booked for diploma in Aesthetic medicine prestigious Jamuna pai institute , Mumbai in September 2011.
Surgical Skills
I have done regular biopsy lists involving excision, punch biopsies, shave biopsies, curettage and cautery. I have also observed and assisted in Day case surgeries involving various skin flaps, skin grafts and Mohs micrographic surgery.
Other Educational activities
I have attended weekly skin MDT meetings and regional dermatological meetings, which was a good opportunity to see and learn complex and rare cases and their management.
I am currently pursuing MSc in allergy from Southampton University, which has improved my understanding in various allergic disorders and research methodology as well.
TEACHING
I enjoy medical students teaching and training and involved in bed site and formal didactic teaching on regular basis. I have presented case on Toxic epidermal necrolysis in grand round meeting which was well received.
