HIGH COURT OF UTTARAKHAND, NAINITAL
Recruitment of Translators (II) - 2010
Applications are invited from eligible candidates in the form given below for recruitment of 06 vacant
posts (General-04, O.B.C.-01, S.C.-01), of Translators by direct recruitment in the establishment of High
Court of Ultarakhand in the pay scale of Pay in Pay Band Rs. 5200-20200 along with Grade Pay of Rs. 2800.
The number of vacancies may increase or decrease.
1. Reservation of Posts: Reservation shall be available to the domiciles of Ultarakhand only.
2. Age: The candidate must have altained the minimum age of 21 years and should not be more than 35
years as on 1st July, 2010. However, relaxation in age will be admissible as per rules of Government of
Ultarakhand to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward
Classes. Government servants must submit their application through proper channel.
3. Qualification: Graduate with Englishl Hindi, as one of the languages, at the Degree level with Diplomal
Certificate Course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice versa from University I Institution, recognized
by Government or two years experience in Translation Works from Hindi to English and vice versa in any
Central I State Govemment Officesl Parliament I State Legislature Secretariats or Central I State Public
Sector Undertakings I Supreme Court of India I High Courts.
4. Physical Fitness: No person shall be recruited unless hel she is in good mental and bodily health and
free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of official duties. Before a
candidate is finally approved for appointment hel she shall be required to produce a medical certificate of
physical fitness.
5. Marital Status: A male candidate who has more than one wife living or a female candidate who has
married a person already having a wife living shall not be eligible for the recruitment.
6. Examination for Recruitment-
(a) A wrilten test of General English and General Knowledge with multiple choice questions (Objective
Type) (30 Marks).
(b) Translation from Hindi to English (60 Marks).
(c) Translation from English to Hindi (60 Marks).
7. Form of Application:- Applications will be entertained only on prescribed form, which may be
downloaded from the website (www.highcourtcifultarakhand.gov.in)ofHighCourtofUltarakhand.Nainital.
The candidates belonging to General I O.B.C. Category must enclose a demand draft of any nationalized
bank for Rs. 2001- and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste Category must enclose a demand draft of
any nationalized bank for Rs. 1001- along with the application drawn in favour of Registrar General, High
Court of Uttarakhand, payable at Nainital. The candidate must enclose the copies of testimonials of
academic qualification, experience etc. For proof of age, copy of certificate of High School or equivalent is
must. Any application not filled completely or without enclosing the copies of required testimonials or demand
draft shall be rejected summarily. The application must be submilted to the Registrar General, High Court of
Ultarakhand, Nainital- 263002.
8. The last date for submission of duly completed application before Registrar General, High court of
Ultarakhand, Nainital is September 24, 2010 by 4.30 P.M. The High Court will not be responsible for any
delay whatsoever. Applications received after the last date shall be rejected summarily. The envelope
containing application should be superscripted, "Application for Recruitment of Translators (II) - 2010".
Application by Government servant should be submilted only through proper channel, with No Objection
Certificate of the Head of the Department.
9. The list of eligible candidates shall be uploaded on the website of the High Court on or before
October 5, 2010 . The written examination shall be conducted in Nainital on November 14, 2010. Admit Card
shall be sent to the eligible candidates only. In case any candidate, whose name appears in the list of eligible
candidates on the website and does not get admit card, he/ she may obtain it from the office of undersigned
by November 12, 2010. The candidate must carry his/her recent passport size photograph while seeking
duplicate admit card. No candidate shall be allowed to appear in the test without admit card.
10.
There will be no interview. The selection will be made on the basis of marks secured in written
examination. The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for General Category & 45% for the S.C. / O.B.C
Categories.
