Applications are invited from Indian Nationals fulfilling the prescribed qualifications for
 appointment to the under mentioned post:-

(i) Name of Post : Senior Library and Information Officer
(ii) Pay scale and allowance : Pay scale of PB-3:-Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of
 Rs.7,600/- p.m. plus allowances as admissible under the rules/orders of the
 Government of India.

(iii)Total No. of Post: 01(Unreserved).
Essential Qualification:
First Class Post Graduate Degree in Library and Information Science with 12 years
 experience in Management of a Modern Library having knowledge on developing
 Inter Library Loan Procedures and Library Networking.
Age Limit : 40 years (as on 15.11.2010). The upper age is relaxable for Central Government
 employees and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates as per rules of the Government of India,
 subject to production of certificate from the Competent Authority. There shall be no upper age
 limit for officers/officials already working in ICFRE and its Institutes/Centres and also for Junior
 Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow/Research Associate and Field Assistant who have been
 continuously working for a period of atleast 8 (eight) years or more in ICFRE and its
 Institutes/Centres.

Place of Posting: Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. However the post carries liability to
 serve anywhere in India.
Date and Time of test and/or interview : To be intimated later to the eligible candidates
 separately.
Place of Written Examination : The written examination will be conducted at Dehradun.
Place of interview : ICFRE, P.O. New Forest, Dehradun (Uttarakhand)
General Instructions:
(i) Mere fulfilling of the minimum advertised qualification and experience requirements DO
 NOT automatically entitle an applicant to be called for test and/ or interview.
 (ii) All the applications received within due date in response to this advertisement shall be
 considered for short-listing by a screening committee and only the candidates
 recommended by the screening committee will be called for test and/or interview. The
 decision of the Council on short-listing will be final and the Council will not entertain any
 correspondence in this respect.
 (iii) Qualifications and other requirements for any post may be relaxed at the discretion of the
 Council, in respect of candidates otherwise well qualified.
 (iv) Candidates are required to pay non-refundable application fee of Rs.200/-(Rupees two
 hundred only) through bank Demand Draft drawn in favour of the “Secretary, ICFRE”
 payable at Dehradun from any Nationalized bank. No other mode of payment of
 application fee is acceptable.
 (v) The SC/ST/PH/Women candidates are exempted from the payment of the application fee.
 In the case of Physically handicapped candidates, this exemption will however, be
 available to only those handicapped persons who would otherwise eligible for appointment
 to the post on the basis of standards of medical fitness prescribed for the posts by the
 Government of India.
 (vi) Apart from affixing one photograph on the application form, candidates are required to
 send two additional photographs separately along with the application with their name
 written at the back side of the photograph in capital letters.
 (vii) Persons working in Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous
 Organizations should submit their applications through proper channel within due date.
 (viii) The applicants belonging to SC/ST categories will be entitled to T.A. as per provisions of
 Ministry of Finance (Deptt. of Expenditure) O.M. No.19014/3/77-E.IV(B) dated.
 17.02.1978.
 (ix) Incomplete applications in any respect, or application submitted not as per the prescribed
 proforma, or received after the last date shall be summarily rejected.
 (x) If at any stage, it is found that any information by the applicant is suppressed or false,
 his/her candidature/selection shall be rejected or cancelled.

How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit their application typed on A-4 size paper as per the
 prescribed proforma given at Annexure-A along with attested copies of (i) certificate of age, (ii)
 certificate of educational qualification, (iii) certificate in support of claim to belong to
 SC/ST/OBC/PH, as applicable, (iv) certificate in support of claim for age relaxation/fee
 concession, as applicable, to the Assistant Director General, Recruitment Board, Indian
Council of Forestry Research and Education, P.O. New Forest, Dehradun-248 006 on or
 before 15.11.2010 positively. Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification. Interim
 enquiries will not be entertained.
