WALK-IN -INTERVIEW
(A) NOTICE :
East Coast Railway desires to engage 02 numbers of full time General Duty medical
practitioners (CMP) in the jurisdiction of Waltair Division, 05 numbers General Duty medical
practitioners (CMP) in the jurisdiction of Khurda Road Division & Central Hospital, Bhubaneswar at
Mancheswar and 01 number Specialist medical practitioners (Specialist-CMP) in the specialization
of General Medicine for Central Hospital, Bhubaneswar at Mancheswar in East Coast Railway, on
contract basis for duration of one year.
The ‘Walk-in-interview’ for engagement of 02 numbers of Full time General Duty Medical
Practitioner (CMPs) in the jurisdiction of Waltair Division, 05 numbers of Full time General Duty
Medical Practitioner (CMPs) in the jurisdiction of Khurda Division and Central Hospital,
Bhubaneswar at Mancheswar and, 01 number of Specialist Medical Practitioner (Specialist CMP)
at Central Hospital, Bhubaneswar at Mancheswar will be conducted in two phases.
‘Walk-in-interview’ on 30.09.2010 will be held in the chamber of CMS/Waltair and ‘Walkin-
interview’ on 04.10.2010 will be held in the Chamber of Chief Personnel Officer (Admn.), 2nd
Floor, South Block, ECoR Sadan, East Coast Railway, Samanta Vihar, Bhubaneswar-17.
Candidates can attend ‘Walk-in-interview’ at any one of the two places for all the above 08
numbers of vacancies of full time GDMO (CMPS) and Specialist (CMP).
The engagement will be on contract basis on Payment of consolidated Honorarium for a
period of one year or till regular UPSC Doctor is available, whichever is earlier.

(B) REMUNERATION :
i) The Monthly remuneration is Rs. 39,400/-(consolidated with HRA & Transport Allowance)
for full time General Duty Doctor-CMP and Rs. 46,800/-/-(consolidated with HRA &
Transport Allowance) for full time Specialist-CMP.
ii) Daily rate of deduction from the Honorarium for absence from the scheduled duty will be
Rs. 1313/-(approx) per day for General Duty Doctor –CMP and Rs.1560/- for full time
Specialist-CMP.
Full time Contract Medical Practitioners (CMPs)/Specialist Contract Medical Practitioner
may be provided unfurnished Railway Quarter accommodation subject to availability. In case
Railway accommodation is provided to the CMP/Specialist-CMP, an amount equivalent to HRA
and license fees of the accommodation so provided shall be deducted from the monthly fees as
admissible. The General Duty Doctor- CMPs so engaged will be posted anywhere in East Coast
Railway subject to the decision of the competent authority at the material time depending upon the
vacancy position. The full time Specialist Doctor -CMP will be posted at Central Hospital,
Bhubaneswar at Mancheswar.

(C) VACANCY :
(i) Total no. of vacancies for General Duty Doctors– 07 ( SC=01, ST=01 OBC=02, UR=03)
(ii) Total Number of vacancies for Specialist Doctor - 01 for UR community.
N.B :
1. The vacancies are inter changeable and adjustable and may increase or decrease along
with reservation roster as per administrative necessity. There may be ‘wait-Listed’ CMPs/
Specialist - CMPs also against the notified / select list who may be engaged as per
necessity. The places of vacancies are liable to change depending upon joining of regular
ADMOs from UPSC panels.
2. The vacancies for General Duty Doctors at the geographical jurisdiction of Waltair Division
of East Coast Railway are at Naupada Health Unit and Bacheli Health Unit.
3. The vacancies of General Duty Doctors are at the geographical jurisdiction of Khurda Road
Division and Central Hospital, Bhubaneswar at Mancheswar of East Coast Railway are at
Divisional Hospital/Khurda Road, Bhadrak Health Unit, Keonjhar Health Unit of Khurda
Division, and Central Hospital, Bhubaneswar at Mancheswar.
4. The Vacancy of Specialist-CMP is at Central Hospital, Bhubaneswar at Mancheswar.

D). EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/ELIGIBILITY :
General Duty Doctor (CMP)- The candidate should be minimum MBBS pass and with
registration in Indian Medical Council or in possession of valid registration certificate of any
of the State Medical Councils of India after completion of one year compulsory rotatory
internship.
Specialist Doctor (Specialist-CMP)- The candidate should be minimum MBBS pass and
with registration in Indian Medical Council or in possession of valid registration certificate of
any of the State Medical Councils of India after completion of one year compulsory rotatory
internship and specialization in the faculty of General Medicine.

E). AGE :
Not exceeding 50 years of age as on 01.09.2010. However, age relaxation is admissible for
5 years to candidates from SC/ST category and 3 years for OBC category candidates.

F) OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS :
1) Selected candidates will be subjected to medical examination and only medically fit
candidate will be given the award of contract/engagement as CMP.
2) The full time Contract Medical Practitioner/Specialist Contract Medical Practitioner who
enters into contract with Railways will not have any claim or right for his/her continuity or
automatic extension of the term of contract.
3) During the validity of the contract, the CMP will be at liberty to terminate the contract for
betterment of his/her career or any other ground by giving prior 15 days notice to the
Railways.
4) The services of these CMPs / Specialist-CMP are also terminable before the expiry of one
year by Railway Administration without assigning any reason whatsoever after giving 15
days notice or on payment of 15 days of honorarium in lieu of the same.
5) The engagement as contract doctors is a stopgap arrangement and will not count as
service.
It will not confer any right for automatic regularization or absorption in Railways.
6) No private practice is allowed.
7) The detailed instructions with regard to the duties while in contract in Railways shall be
given to CMP/Specialist-CMP concerned in the event of selection along with the offer of
engagement and contract (with terms and conditions in detail).
8) The contract shall also be terminated by the Railways administration if the CMP/Specialist-
CMP is found to be mentally or physically incapacitated.
9) The administration of the ECoR reserves absolute rights to cancel this notification without
assigning any reason(s).
10) Appearance in the interview will not vest any right upon the candidate to be engaged as
CMP/Specialist-CMP & no reasons will be cited or communication shall be made with the
candidate in the event of candidate not getting selected.
On the Scheduled date of ‘Walk-in-interview’ the eligible and willing candidates should
report to the Authorized Representative of East Coast Railway in the office of CMS Waltair on
30.09.2010 and in the office the Chief Personnel Officer, ECoR Sadan, East Coast Railway, 2nd
Floor, South Block, Samanta Vihar, Bhubaneswar-17 on 04.10.2010 along with the application
form duly filled in the format appended below and enclosing necessary attested copies of the
testimonials (attested by Gaz Officer), two passport size photographs at the venue of the Interview
in time. Original certificate (s) should be produced for verification at the time of interview.
The day(s) of interview may be more than one day and no TA/DA/Accommodation
will be provided to the candidates attending the interview. Reserved Category (SC/ST) and
OBC candidates should bring their latest caste certificate (attested copy and original both) issued
by the Competent Authority and issued in the prescribed format.
